I feel like this is a safe space to say this. Go to Costco and just get a nice but much cheaper bouquet - maybe the Lilies. Come home and pull out a vase and set it all up with glass rocks and water, and tie a nice ribbon around the vase. Having been married for a bit now we have a variety of vases and couple different colors of glass rocks. Add a nice card and for $20 you look like a stud. Use the additional $40 on something else that won't be dead in a rubbish bin in a week or two. Even if it's to just add a box of her favorite sees candy or taking her to lunch.

Usually flowers during Valentines Day and Mothers Day are marked up ~200%. Costco is the only exception I've found. If I get flowers for my wife on Valentines Day and send flowers to my mother on Mothers Day, I more than pay for my membership just with those savings.

I had Costco send me some horrible flowers a few years back when I tried for Valentine's Day. I know people around here are typically happy, I guess I just was unlucky that round. I am still hesitant to try again though.

Having ordered flowers online from Costco for 2-3 years, I would now buy directly from Costco store instead. The flowers ordered from Costco online and shipped are not as fresh or well arranged whatsoever. I'm surprised to find so many people still jumping on this.

As I mentioned in my original post, the price has been going up by $5 every year. They also had more color options in years past. But I don't see anyone else cutting costs for long stem roses, especially with delivery included.

The flowers usually arrive in need of water but should bloom nicely once fed. If their trash, refund. Then you're left with the same option you have now, go out with every other shmoe on Valentine's day and grab what you can.

This "deal" let's me check off that particular errand now and from the comfort of my own home.

My family enjoys clipping the flowers and putting them in vases. If that sounds like a hassle, keep shopping.
