It seems more likely that either demand is falling leading to price drops on these or this is some kind of short-term pricing strangeness with Amazon.

For my uses, I'm likely looking at one monitor for 4K gaming, maybe one additional 4K monitor for auxiliary applications.

For my uses, I'm likely looking at one monitor for 4K gaming, maybe one additional 4K monitor for auxiliary applications.
It isn't really a concern for most gaming use cases because this card wouldn't be capable of delivering high frame rates to 3x high resolution monitors at the same time anyway.
To be honest, there aren't all that many DP 2.1 displays on the market yet so it is mostly future looking. I only mentioned it because some of the other 7900 XTX cards have 3x DP 2.1 ports.

You lose DLSS and gain increased rasteriization performance. I would definitely purchase this over a 3080 but I don't think I would jump on an upgrade personally. I would wait unless you are hurting for performance.
