For future reference, the technical name for 'forever chemicals' is 'Per- and poly- fluorinated alkyl substances' but it's referred to as PFAS for short. That's what to look for in a listing. In this case it says it right in the name of the product on the product page:

Reach Waxed Dental Floss | Effective Plaque Removal, Extra Wide Cleaning Surface | Shred Resistance & Tension, Slides Smoothly & Easily , PFAS FREE | Mint Flavored, 55 Yards, 1 Pack

I do hospice volunteering and as such come in contact with a lot of people who are in their final months of life. Many of them are dying due to various illnesses and damage to organs.

I ask them if it was the bacon that did them in? Or was it the alcohol? What about smoking? Or the impurities in the drinking water? However time and time again, as they lie there in their final stage of life, with very little energy to speak and in a very hushed and barely audible whisper, invariably they say "it was the dental floss".

Thanks for your response, but it looks like it's YMMV. I don't have the coupon.

PFAS and these forever chemicals aren't going to call you in the short or even mid-term. But I've folks in old age where an accumulation will damage your organs and health. Thyroid issues, gut issues, inflammation. Of course, it's hard to pinpoint where it's at, but NIH studies show it does cause thyroid issues and can lead to other health issues. I'm not going to say definitively that it will kill you or make it hard in your old age, but I might as well avoid it to try and prevent it. The person I know dealing with health issues is going through a lot of suffering, like constipation, insomnia, tiredness all day long, weak liver, and the list goes on and on, and I'm doing what I can to prevent that by getting products that don't have these.

In the case of Teflon, Oral-B glide is known to have it, if you look at a Harvard study, "People who use certain types of dental floss may absorb toxic chemicals that have been linked with heart disease and cancer, according to a new study.

The study found that women who flossed with Oral-B Glide floss had higher levels of a chemical called perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS) in their blood than women who didn't use that type of floss. PFHxS is part of a large class of chemicals called PFASs, which are found in many consumer products ranging from nonstick cookware to waterproof clothing to food packaging, and are also used in firefighting foams at airports and military bases. These chemicals have been linked to liver damage, harm to the immune system, developmental issues, and cancer, and can persist in people's bodies and in the environment for many years."

There's lots of people in the US who deal with heart disease and cancer, so you can't deny that it is an issue.
