I don't know why people are complaining about a cheap entry level disposable laptop like this as if the 7520u is worse than a celeron. To put this cpu into perspective, it's Passmark score is just under 10,000, for context, if anyone remembered the 4790k, similar performance. This is a bottom of the barrel cpu with DDR5 and RDNA GPU

Intels version of this is a dual core cpu with a Passmark of maybe half the power of this and zero ability to play any kind of game. Please remember this is the entry level cpu so don't compare this to a 6 core 12 thread ryzen 5

This is actually quite amazing of a cpu for entry level and this blows the doors off of what you used to get at the low end

Decent specs for basic tasks given the price, though R5-7520U and R3-7320U are basically rebranding of older Zen 2 architecture.
Both come with LPDDR5 8GB, which means not upgradable.

price certainly good, but I need a better cpu...it's a zen2, not even zen3.

Besides the no backlit keyboard, Is this actually a good deal? Been looking for a replacement school laptop. I know computers well so just in case the battery is worn I can replace it.

I have the ryzen 3 Acer aspire w/ backlit keyboard. Other than the plastic rim around the webcam (and the crappy webcam itself which I wouldn't use regardless...)...it is a great laptop and I overuse it

Garbage CPU. Dont get confused by the name, its Mendocino, AKA Zen 2 quadcore with a barely functional IGP. Hence why this comes with Windows 11 in S MODE because performance is so poor it will chug with any real usage in Windows.

Unless you are only looking for basic web browsing and youtube, stay away.

BTW, both of these Acer machines have a HDMI port and functionality of charging and DisplayPort over USB-C 3.2.
