Haven't used this one, but I have used the magnepull version. Wired 4 rooms with coax and Ethernet home run by myself in a day. That was through the attic and insulated exterior walls. Added an additional dedicated circuit for the kitchen too while I was at it.

I have a really hard time believing I wouldn't lose these in a wall within a minute of using them.

I've read about the side to side motion after some Googling. With my luck this thing will get stuck in insulation and be stuck in my wall for good and then if I wanted to retrieve it I'd be repairing drywall and painting.

Put a pull string on it and pull it back if you can't lasso it with the magnet

How do you get it through a frebreak half way between the ceiling and floor?

Magnepull is great, nice beefy magnets. I would be concerned with the Klein rolling not as well, and having less magnetic force!

Most don't have that. If you do have that then you're probably looking at having to drill a hole and this wouldn't be nearly as helpful. I've never used one of these. I normally just use a snake and for the longer ones where I have to go through holes in boards an endoscope attached to the snake. I'm curious how much better this is than a snake

This worked for me running stuff through insulated walls. Strong as hell magnet. Rolling tool didn't mark up my walls

If wires are vertical, starting from the ceiling downward, this tool is less of a necessity, as you can attach some heavy object (say an ingot) to the wire and gravity will take care of it to reach the floor level. Now, for wire pulled horizontally, that would be useful if the tool behaves nicely. Any experience?

5 foot drill bit. Drop a chem light down on to the fire break, use glow rods to feed a string thru the hole to where you are wanting the wire. This tool won't help you.

Thanks OP. I didn't even know Klein made one of these. I've wanted a Magnepull for a few years but was hard to justify the $120+ even used cost.
