Safari : Hard to search

Safari 16.5.2 (latest) - when I click in the search bar, it covers up 85% of the text box with a popup (Advanced search option) so that it's impossible to see what's being typed in.
You're making me select a bunch of options to submit this post but it applies to every category/etc. So ignore my selections.
Edit: Im using no extensions. This is probably the wrong forum for this question. It should be up one level to the parent.
