Doesn't say nonstop, so looking at march dates for the $999 pp option:
JFK assuming 1stop, flight ~500/p with TAP/turkish and other similar players or ~800/p with British airways/lufthansa/etc. tier airlines
2 nights of accommodations at Leonardo Royal Hotel Venice Mestre or similar in Venice ~95/nt
2 nights of accommodations at PopApartment (studio apartment) or similar in Florence ~91/nt
2 nights of accommodations at Hotel Pineta Palace or similar in Rome ~130/nt
Rail from Mestre to Florence (tourist class), Rail from Florence to Rome (tourist class) - no idea what tourist class is but looks to be about $25/ea for business class. So $100 for this

So rough calculation of 1750-2350 for $1998, Maybe a deal if they use the bigger airlines, but if you're doing this anyway, seems easy enough to book your own and save

Just got back from Rome/Florence/Venice two days ago. The place is swarming with tourists, and I wouldn't even think of doing this in the summer. 2 days per city is fine, although rushed.

Seems like a good value if you are ok with a very rushed trip. They also do not commit to a hotel in each location using the term "or similar". I wouldn't do it but to each their own.

Having been to Italy five times, I would suggest that two days is not nearly enough for Rome.

Venice? Sure. Florence? Yep. Rome? No way.

I'm not sure if this travel agency will work with you, but I've booked travel with an agency that had a groupon where they'll let you change the return flight dates out further, providing you cover your own accommodations for the extra nights... and pay any additional fee if the flight is deemed to be more valuable. In the past, it's worked out where the return flight we ended up taking was CHEAPER than what they had proposed, making the package even cheaper. So we were on the hook for slightly less than the value of the deal plus the hotel stays. This gave us a lot more flexibility in where we could go.

In the five times we've traveled there, we've been to:

Rome (all five times)
Venice (twice)
Naples (three times)
Capri (twice)
Pompeii (twice)
Positano (once)
Verona (once)
Murano (once)
Amalfi (once)
Florence (once)

I was last in Rome around Valentine's Day of 2020. The city had gotten notably dirtier (to me, anyway) from when I was there just a few years prior.

Positano and Capri are a must-visit. Unfortunately, the ferry lines between Capri and Positano were not running (non-peak season / cold weather?) when we were last there.

I cranked through Rome in 2 days, no problem. Depends if you want to see the attractions or just hang in the city and get a sense of the lifestyle. Honestly, it's best to get in, do the attractions, and get out. Rome is gross (and this past week it was a little cleaner than my last trip in 2022).

I don't disagree with it being gross. But from my view, there's just too much to see and do. We don't even do all of the art museums or parts of town. Pantheon/Trevi Fountain/Colosseum/Vatican Museum/St. Peter's/Castel St. Angelo is two days in itself. That doesn't include the Roman Forum, some of the side piazzas (i.e. Navona, etc.), some of the nicer churches, the Spanish Steps, etc.

Did a similar trip this past summer. Yes, tourists EVERYWHERE.

One thing to note with this package - these hotels are not very close to most of the places you will want to see. Consider not only the cost to get to the city center but also the lost time each day.

Literally, 4 days ago, did Pantheon/Trevi Fountain/Colosseum/Vatican Museum/St. Peter's/Navona/Spanish Steps/Keats Shelly House, Cafe Grecco, Giolitti, and Alfredo alla Scrofa. In 8 hours on a day trip from Florence. You just need reservations and a 24 hour subway pass. If we had an overnight coulda done Castello as well.

That being said, I'm a total spaz and have used day trips or layovers to see more in one day than most do in a few. I'm really, really good at this stuff.

I mean if you literally run through Vatican Museums it will still take 30min to an hour, if checking in and checking out is enough, then sure you can do Rome in a day, but why bother if you aren't looking at anything? :\

Overall - it's an ok value, but you could book your own for about the same price or less and stay where you want, etc.

I've done same itinerary trip, but with a third day in Rome. Two days was just enough for Florence. There's just so much to see even with packed days it felt like there was more we wanted to do. But it was wonderful nonetheless and this is a good starting point on a budget.

Also "full of tourists " haha well sure, but that's just the cost of entry for some of the most iconic historical cities in the world.

Very few comments here thus far, and seems like a few opinions on time to spend in Rome. I've been to Rome several times, the first two trips were mostly tourist places, tours in museums, Vatican, walking to see sights, etc. Takes a whole lot out of you as there's tons of walking and things to see. however on my last two visits spent more time going out to restaurants/bars, relaxing in parks and exploring hidden areas (if close to some touristy spots will stop for a quick peek). If it's your first time going to Rome (or Italy) don't rush trying to pack everything in into a short period of time, take a few days to see the most popular places first, then on return visits you can spend less time there and enjoy the city differently. This is my opinion. There is so much to see and each place is more amazing than the next. If I have a chance to go back again I'd spend time going to coastal cities like Positano, Amalfi, etc. Yes there are a ton of tourists all over the country (all major cities in Europe in summer), can't avoid it unless you travel in the late summer early fall or spring. We are all tourists.
