But why? You still need to attach a hose.

It has the ability to draw from a bucket or other unpressurized tank. I personally think it's a toy, but there are some ego fans that are gaga over this thing. Ego needs to make a leaf vac, not power washers and mini bikes.

I'm an Ego fanboy but if you are going to be tethered to a hose you might as well be plugged into an outlet. I have a hard time believing this can compare to a corded washer pulling 1500+ Watts.

This is regular price. Not a deal, surely not a slick deal.

As far as "but you still need a hose", I much rather deal with just a hose, than a hose and a cord, it makes moving around the property much easier. A lot of folks have multiple water hookups around property as well.

Maybe for a few minutes at a time?

Here's the thing with pressure washers. They've come a long way. Electric ones running on 110V still can't deliver the power of a gas one, but they can do the job. It's just going to be a little slower.

i.e., you need time.

i.e., unless the area you're washing is tiny, you need hours.

i.e., how the heck is a battery-powered model going to keep going without needing a charge?

and as others have said, you're tethered to a hose anyway...

Just be aware this product serves a limited audience.

How about EGO making an inflator to fill tires, balls, air mattresses, etc.??? I may be wrong, but it seems that every company that produces battery powered tools makes them with the exception of EGO.

A Dethatcher or core aerator would get my money day 1.

as much as I believe this is a bit silly for 98% of users, it does have its application for people that need remote use with a water tank on a trailer.

either way, an interesting point is the power consumption. most electric pressure washers give a pressure and flow spec but NEVER do they say at the same time. so a 1.2GPM 2000PSI pressure washer can hit both of those numbers, but not at the same time... but ego says 3200PSI at 1.2GPM with 2 GPM max. that calculates to 2.25HP or 1675 watts. depending on if they rate at 110V or 120V that's 14A-16A with a quoted 60 minute runt time at that consumption. that's 30A which is reasonable for these types of batteries.

I can see something like this being useful for washing bat guano off your boat while you're moored at the lake. But I'm struggling to think of a use for it around the house. I suppose depending on the pressure and spray patterns available, it might be useful to spray fungicide from a bucket into small ornamental trees like crabapples.

Given that pressure washers don't use much water to begin with, a 5 gallon bucket will go a surprisingly long time. I personally can't wait to get my hands on this and be cord free.

How come people are not seeing the distinction between this being battery operated vs gas? I keep seeing comments that this is novelty, or still need to be attached to a hose so what is the difference if it is plugged in. Maybe not a huge difference vs an electric one, but for people deep in the ego lineup, this is a perfect alternative to a gas powered washer.

Dang, that's a pretty great idea actually. Never thought of that before. I have difficulty reaching the top of my ivy with the backpack sprayer to get the Japanese beetles. I use a powdered bacteria that targets these beetles bellies when they eat the leaves and everything else survives. Thank you for the idea!

The Ryobi one works great. It would look ridiculous with a huge Ego battery attached to it. Ego makes large yard tools. I wish they had a shop vac. The Ryobi cordless one is useless.
