I could manage with the two week ad if a) they replenished dqs we use the first week and b) they give us a better ad than they did this week.

At the rate they're going, I'll be on to other pursuits by the end of the year. And at the moment, that idea is kind of exciting to me.
Anything would be more exciting than hitting your head against a brick wall. For me, I like the punishment...lol

But then it would be a real 2-week ad. This garbage is just an excuse to limit our coupons and deals even more.

Thanks. Even though I could've sworn that someone said that they didn't extend (probably was reading the wrong week), I usually check anyway and the one time I didn't and threw mine away, they extendnod. Heading to my garbage canlaugh out loud
You are correct. Someone did say they did NOT extend so I didn't bother to scan my cards and couldn't take advantage of the one measly thing CVS is still giving us.

Quote from fitnessfan :
$3 maybelline from the first week of the ad did not extend, but the second week it did. Same for the other weeklies. We've had the 2-week ad here for over 6 months and this has been the same pattern, week 1 never extends, week 2 always does. It was nice with the 2-day grace because I could stack week 1 and week 2 crts for overage or MM on EB deals.
Thank you for that. It's important we know the few advantages we might still have.

Haven't been to CVS in ages. Could anyone please tell me if the $1/2 DQ for General Mills cereal will come off on two boxes of Cheerios that are buy one get one free? I know the register won't accept two paper coupons if the second item rings up free but wasn't sure about $1/2 DQ's. I would assume it works because the DQ only takes up one slot but wanted to be sure before I send DH to the store.Thanks.
I was going to say it will work, but now that I think of it I only buy when they are 1.99 so I don't think it will. I hope someone with a sharper memory than mine can come answer you.

Thank you. The price is outrageous even with BOGO so I doubt it that anyone has tried it but they gave me a $4 ECB to try to lure me back so if the DQ works, along with the $1/2 ibotta it's a decent deal for me.

DH will be heading out in a bit (snow finally stopped) so I'll report back.

Edit: reporting back that it *did* come off!

My IP for Garnier Whole Blends didn't work last week, and the Fructis one didn't work this week. Also the Loreal Elvive didn't work this week. I had ip for One A Day that didn't work, but the insert q worked fine. So frustrating!
I guess with the two week ads I can plan ahead and order insert qs more easily.

Anyone doing Aquaphor, the two pack previously posted about is also on the shelf in the first aid section if you don't see it with the lotion.

From what I was told last night from a coupon friendly store manager, most ip's no longer work at CVS. Upset a number of customers. They aren't part of the CVS master coupon file and likely won't be.

CVS Foolishness Rant:

On Jan 7, I did my usual Sunday shopping. My total on my 2nd transaction ended up being less than expected which made my last EB reduce from $4 to $2+. Both the asst. man. and I noticed it at the same time so she asked if I wanted to void that one and use a smaller on. I said yes, she voided that one, I used a smaller EB, everything recalculated and all was well....so I thought. Next day, I ran into a different CVS to grab something. When I tried to pay, EB wouldn't work. Cashier got a message that it had been used. Didn't have time to check into so I gave her a different one and went on my way. Later on that day, it hits me that she says it was used on the 7th, so now I realize that it has to be that $4 EB from the day before. I call customer service and of course they argue with me and say it was used. I explain the situation and they still say it was used. I say it wasn't. She decides to pull up receipt and sees that no $4 EB was used in that transaction. After that she issues me a replacement $4 EB. End of story......nope

For the second part, a little backstory first. Also on Jan 7, I do my usual but, for whatever reason, I can't get my 2 $10/$60 thresholds to work together so I can do 1 large transaction. Strange because I have more than enough to cover the thresholds and I use them together all the time without issue but, no big, I split the transaction. Each transaction has 2 Burt's Bees Masks in it. I earn the EBs for both sets. Fast forward to Jan 14. I go in, shop, use some EB (including one of the BB EB from the previous week), earn new my EB, no issues, no problems. Next day I check my account and it is short. I count my EB and there is a difference so I match up and the second Burt's Bees EB is in my hand but not showing in my account. Then I start thinking and researching. I see an old comment from fitnessfan about the second Colgate EB disappearing and figure that is what happened to me. Call customer service and she tells me that I used 2 different BB EB on Jan 14. I say that is incorrect. She got a little snippy and said, I am looking at your receipt. Do you need me to send it to you?Censored Now I have an attitude and said, I don't need you to send me anything. I have the actual receipt in my hand. Do you need me to send a picture of the receipt to you? Then I say, I can give you the EB number and you can tell me how it was used. Better yet, you can go ahead and escalate this to the next person. Then she says hold on, let me check something else. A few minutes later she comes back on the line and I say, are you transferring to someone who can give me some answers? She says, oh, no, no, I am going to just re-issue another EBRolleyes2. No admission of, we screwed up. The good thing is I got mine back but it makes me wonder how many others it has happened toScratchhead.

IME, when I've done those limit 2 deals in separate transactions and have 2 EBs from the deal, as long as I use them together in the same transaction, there's no problem. But if I use just one, then both disappear from my account. So what I do now is just staple the 2 EB's together to remind myself that I have to use them at the same time. No, we shouldn't have to do that, but it ends up saving time and frustration dealing with CVS CS!

Thanks for the tip💚. Definitely something I will have to remember. My first time with this issue since I normally do deals with a limit of 2 in one transaction.
They seem to able to fix that which they wanna fix but stuff like this they "can't"

I can't say why, but I don't like staples anymore, so I just write on the ecbs '1of2, must use together'. Then, even if one expires later than the other, both go in my ecbs as of the earliest expiration date.

Exactly! You are really brave to call their CS two times in one month! They are really awful, I do everything I can to keep from calling them. I think the last time I called was sometime before 2020.

Move over to Walgreens Smilie. They have been doing great off late with their mystery and other rewards coupons.
No expiration like ECBs either.

Let's say that I'm getting Colgate. With the 2 week ad, if I do one deal this week and one deal next week will I potentially have an issue with the ecb from the second deal not working unless I use both ecb's in the same transaction?

The issue with Wags though, you really have to plan well for your deals or be willing to spend a good bit oop. I do shop there quite a bit but, because I prefer to not spend oop, I have to plan a bit more if I want to take advantage of their mystery and other threshold deals. CVS, beyond all these annoying changes, is a lot more simple.

Let's say that I'm getting Colgate. With the 2 week ad, if I do one deal this week and one deal next week will I potentially have an issue with the ecb from the second deal not working unless I use both ecb's in the same transaction?
I don't know, since this is only the second cycle of the 2-week ad. The first cycle, I did not repeat any of the deals. We've had the 2-week ad here for over 6 months, but the deals did not reset the 2nd week.

I understand the deals reset but do they keep the same reference number? Since I got out, I havent paid that close of attention but I would expect that they do since tags are not being reprinted/ rehung (or at least that was part of the excuse for going to a 2 week ad so I assume that's what's happening). If that's the case, I would anticipate an issue with at least some of the historically problematic deals (not all were).
