  • About this deal:
    • RTINGS gives the QN90C a score of 8.3 and QN85C a score of 8.1 (both for mixed usage).
    • RTINGS' comparison of these 2 models:
      • "The Samsung QN90C/QN90CD QLED is better than the Samsung QN85C QLED, but not by as much as you'd think. The QN90C gets much brighter than the QN85C in both SDR and HDR, but in practice, this isn't always noticeable, as most content just isn't mastered to take advantage of such high brightness levels. The QN90C's Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) also more aggressively dims the scene when it gets extremely bright, to a point where the two TVs are equally as bright in the brightest of scenes. The QN90C has better color volume and reflection handling than the QN85C."

They probably see more Samsung than anything else due to Samsung owning 34% of the market share in the US. LG with 19% and Vizio at 11%. Those are the big 3.

What are you using the TV for? My mother in law has the Q70, 65" and she likes it. It has a nice picture and such but it's a very good to average TV. The Q80C should be a little step up.

Here is a comparison [rtings.com] of the Q85C to the Q80C.
TV shows on Comcast, sports like soccer and Netflix streaming.

I would get the QN85 series if it was me but....I go big or go home. Looking at the Q70, it's a very nice picture with the basic settings. Good luck with what you buy.

So in my mind my options are this.

1. Buy the 65 q80c for 825 and save money

2. Spend a bit extra and get the 65 qn85 for 1040 and a 2 year warranty.

3. Wait for superbowl week and hope Costco runs the sony 65 x90L for 999+ the 5 year warranty

Lol, you might get lucky but Costco has really sucked this past black Friday and after with their TV deals. And I'm dealing with the Allstate warrenty and I'm having major problems with them. I was on the phone with Costco first, then allstate, then samsung for over three hours and then they say we'll, we will send a tech to your house to see what's wrong with your TV. And then, The tech company has canceled on my twice. I already bought a new TV, I'm almost done with Costco.

So would you just buy the q80c? It's for 70+ year Olds but I want the best quality for them and ease of use for Netflix. I also bought the Samsung hw-s800b Soundbar deal. Samsung offered the qe1c TV at 70" for 879 with 2 year warranty

My new TV is the QN90C and I'm blown away bt it, it's just a little bit above the QN85C. But, the Q80 is no push over. I was just watching the game, Texas and Ravens and the picture is out of this world. I still have to play with the setting, these Samsung TVS tend to be bright.

I repd you for the help. I bought the q80c, waiting to pickup from best buy as I figure it's safer to pick up from there vs have it go through shipment services getting tossed around.

Hey pal, I just tried the Samsung App and it worked fine for me. Try logging out, then logging back in. And I think this deal ends today.

Good luck!

S95C is Samsungs Top of line TV.
You can find great deals on similar OLED technology TVs like the LG C2 or C3. Or if you want the Best..Get a Sony OLED. 65 to 77" seem to be the sweet spot
S89c, s90c, and s90 series 77" are essentially the same tv…
