The 19oz shows $4.98 in my area, very much normal price. But more importantly, the 19oz is uniquely NON-FLAMMABLE. Coming from a mechanic, it is always good to have some of this on-hand for that one questionable scenario you may run into. Cleaning oil leaks by hot exhaust manifolds, using it nearby a pilot light or kerosine heater, or when you're in denial anything will happen with your lit cigarette to name a few. A bonus is that the CRC works better than 99% of the brake cleaners out there and also works spraying with the can upside-down almost every time if needed.

Just keep the cheap flammable stuff too in case you need to torch that freakishly large spider...

Because Walmart doesn't make brake cleaner. Chances are it's crc in the can. Crc doesn't make brake cleaner either. Between the epa the derm the fbi the irs and a hundred other government entities brake cleaner is all the same.

Brake cleaner is not all the same. I buy brake cleaner by the pallet and trust me, each brand performs differently, and the Super Tech is the worst I've used hands-down.

Not hating on the brand, just stating facts. Yes, I know Walmart doesn't manufacture their chemicals (their oil made by Highline-Warren for example), but they do outsource to the lowest bidder.

If anyone is curious what I use/like due to heavy usage, the CRC 19oz non-flammable is the second best overall IMO (best non-flammable). Third best is AutoZone's Shop Pro (what I use most - value winner via commercial discounts, but terrible when spraying any way but upright). Top performer I've ever used is Mopar's brake cleaner, but I just can't justify the cost. No I'm not a Mopar fan.

Super Tech is good (not the best) and always priced cheap, compared to other name brands.

If you buy it buy the pallet, why aren't you buying it in barrels and using a Vaper spray can? That has to be a lot cheaper.

Valid question. But one word - convenience. Plus CRC Brakleen tends to corrode the internals in short order for some reason, which clogs the nozzle with internal debris. Plus the cost of repair kits and time spent repairing them, pouring the contents, charging them every fill. The guys prefer to grab and go. Time is money.

I concur, Wal-Mart's brake clean is not as good as CRC non-chlorinated. It's the difference between spraying something once to rinse off rather than few times plus needing agitation.

If you really need it clean, chlorinated is the way to go. It's also non-flammable and great for removing grease stains on clothes (perc is what they use for dry cleaning). Just make sure you aren't near plastics, rubber, aren't planning on welding, and have a TON of ventilation, as it is dangerous to your health.
