AppleBee's and "date-night" should never be in the same sentence. Guys, a bit of advice... if your name isn't Cleatice or Clem and you're not taking your sister/wife or 1st cousin/girlfriend/baby-mama out for a special occasion NEVER take them to TGIFriday's, AppleBee's or Chili's unless it is to end your relationship with them.
Yes, you gotta take them to the local wafflehouse instead. Sometimes you'll get a dinner and a "show" if you time it right lol

So a date a week for a year... Or a lunch plan everyday for two months

If you living with a woman that doesn't appreciate your company anywhere and the gesture to take her somewhere then you have bigger concerns than where to take her to eat. Know your value and have someone that does as well.

This deal is a great excuse for maybe a pair of people that didn't date as much or got busy to say, he we gotta use this and better go on a date. Just have to watch the extras to keep it at about $30, no drinks and cash tip.

I still remember our last visit to Applebee's we ordered and my wife got her food within about 20min for dinner and I assumed mine was coming out a bit later. 15min passed by and I called the waiter over to ask if my food is coming and he responded, "you didn't order anything..." where I was so shocked, I said simply "yes I did." in a calm voice. He insisted "no, you didn't." My wife is usually very quiet and the type even if her order is off she would just accept it and on this occasion she spoke up to back me up that I DID indeed order. Waiter didn't apologize or anything and treated as a new order. I mean if I work in that industry, even if the customer was wrong, I would have said "sorry, what would you like to order...".
Similar experience, we ordered 2 margaritas. My girl got hers, about 10 minutes past and we asked the waiter to which he replied with "oh yea let me go check on that" about another 7-10 minutes went by. We asked again and this time got "oh shoot I forgot to put it in" he rushed to the bar and about 3 minutes later I had my drink. No apologies or anything 😂

This. Me too.

Have you ever seen their kitchen? It's like 75% microwaves and 20% fryers. The food makes a lot more sense once you know most of it was microwaved.
Unless things have changed dramatically in the last 6 years or so, this is simply not true. I worked for over 10 years at an Applebee's. The majority of items were not microwaved. There was a large fire grilling surface with black grill grates, a large flat top grill, and fryers, as well as a small stove area to cook things in boiling water. There were indeed a couple of microwaves, which every restaurant has, which were primarily used to cook some of the kids items like kids hot dog and kids macaroni and cheese. Microwaves were also used to reheat vegetables which were cooked properly earlier in the shift. Most of the food - burgers, fries, steaks, fried chicken items, ribs, riblets, mozzarella sticks etc were never microwaved at any point.

I haven't been to Applebees in so long.
However, I do recall them having a discounted appetizers menu after 10pm every nite. Me and my spouse would go to town on those apps and it would make for a cheap date with filling food.

If that promotion is still going on, I would get this card.

I don't think this is that good of a deal. If you think about it, dinner for 2 will be about $40-50, this offer will only credit you $30 per visit, so you're still paying about $20-30 out of pocket after tax and tip. So basically, this promo is like giving you a buy one get one free each week, all year round. Not a bad deal but not a great one…unless you really dig Applebees.

Applebee's is just the worst out of the American fair chains imo. Chili's is miles ahead.
