Overcooked and Overcooked 2 are incredible couch-co-op titles where you can even get to the point where you are controlling two difference cooks at the same time with each side of the same controller. Up to 4 at the same time makes it unbeatable in today's gaming market.

Runs fine for me in the dock, but the levels can take a little while to load.
I have more of an issue with control delayed. I've only ever played it docked and the latency between button presses and seeing an outcome is a lot higher than any other game I've played on switch

They fixed this in Overcooked AYCE. It uses a revamped engine for both 1 and 2, which not only plays better but looks better too.
AYCE added so many improvements that it's really the only version to get:
- All DLC from both games is included, in addition to new exclusive seasonal packs and characters made for AYCE.
- Added online capability for Overcooked 1. Campaigns for both games and all bonus levels can be played online.
- Added 4-star mastery to all levels for extra difficulty.
- Added "assist" mode for accessibility and playing with less skilled players.
I know they're probably preparing for an Overcooked 3, but AYCE is polished enough that they could have just released $10 DLC packs for it and kept it going for years.
Anyone else buy overcooked in the, past only to get disappointed when you realized it wasn't Plate Up. Overcooked was a try the multi-player once and delete it game.
Can someone explain all the different versions of Overcooked, please. Seems like "Overcooked Special Edition" is the original Overcooked plus some extra levels? And "Overcooked! 2 - Gourmet Edition" is a follow up version plus all the version 2 extra "packs," but no overlap with the version 1 "special edition." Both of those combined would be the same as buying "Overcooked! All You Can Eat" (not on sale, currently $40)? Do I have all that right?
If the current sale of "special edition" and "gourmet edition" are essentially the same thing as "all you can eat" it's pretty close to the same price. But if "all you can eat" has more stuff than these two, maybe better to wait for another "all you can eat" sale. (I really hate these renamed/repackaged offers. Make it more clear what is what!)
Just buy "all you can eat", you will get everything including 1+2 plus additional bonus DLCs. They just want to squeeze every penny out of earlier players. If you are late to the game, lucky you, "all you can eat" is all you need.

I'm pretty sure all versions of Overcooked involve throwing your teammate across the room.
Oh you mean IN THE GAME?
