I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

If you do the trade in at the store do they give you the credit right away or do they have to mail off the phone? I am thinking about cancelling my online order if it doesn't ship in the next day or two (can't get to a store until Friday night anyways) and then pay for the phone I want in store... Even if I have to pay extra for the ram upgrade.

7 days since I ordered and no update. Told by their customer service it should ship today. Though I doubt it ships out this late in the day...
"ram upgrade" ? there no such thing , I guess you mean to say storage upgrade .

How do you know if something is Samsung locked. I sent in my dad's old s21. He didn't know the Samsung pw to do a regular factory reset in settings so I had to factory reset from soft boot as I saw online. I assumed that unlocks everything but now I'm getting scared it might be still locked somehow with everyone talking about google/Samsung locks.
When doing a factory reset in settings menu, it sends a signal to Google to release teh phone from that account. When you do a factory reset from the boot menu, it skips that step and so Google still has that phone attached to that account and therefore prevents the phone from being released to others. Apple does something similar. This prevents thieves from easily using a stolen phone. You might have botched that one.

The way to fix your way out of that situation would have been to log into your dad's account after the first factory reset, and then once logged in, you do a proper factory reset from the settings menu to fully detach this phone from his account.

same but I did 3 phones last year with similar promo during the S23

turned in A32, got S23 and paid in full

2 days later did the same

3 days later, I did the ultimate, turned in my s23 for the s23+. lol.

all on my 1 free mobile line they gave out for 12 months as part of promotion.
Were you able to unlock all the phones? I'm concerned because some of them were only active on the line for a few days.

They changed that. Now they are enforcing the 60 day requirement.

Is there no way to log into my dad's Google account and say he no longer has that phone?

Last time they unlocked the phone immediately or next day if phone was paid in full. So, what most people did was, buy the phone with trade in, unlock the phone, then upgrade the line with another phone. Now, your line need to be active for 61 days to unlock the phone. So, technically you can upgrade the same line but it could affect the unlocking process .

I opened a new line today and I already see an option to upgrade. Now only question is if I order another phone then how would I unlock both the devices with one single mobile line. Anyone with experience on past year's S23/pixel deals please chime in.
Once the "new phones" are activiated, the 60 day clock starts. One can simply swap physical sim, at least in the old days so that one of the two would be active. When call for unlock, makes sure the phone has 60+ days since activiation, put the physical sim in, make some calls, and ensure the imei of the phone you want to unlock appears in the spectrum online account, then call for unlock for that specific line. Now not sure about esim. I went to the store today requesting physical sim in place of esim, they don't know how to do it.

That might actually be possible too. Under Google account settings I think there's a way to remove attached devices. That might release it.

For those wondering whether a locked phone qualifies for trade-in, I just traded in a Walmart Moto G Play in-store. I had to tell the salesman it's a Moto G Play 2023. The worst part is that he lied to me, saying I am not qualified for the gig plan but for the Unlimited plan. I didn't want to argue and just processed the payment. It's still a good deal though.
sounds like Metro by Tmobile store...
