I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Damn.. I sent in a Moto G, which now I see on ST website saying it isn't eligible to activate. The trade in shipment is stuck in Cooperville or whatever. To make it worse, I opened S24 box already. So, now I have to deal with a $40 bricked phone which I can't return or resell AND a restocking fee for Spectrum. Total damage will be around $100, but too much hassle and time consuming. No fault on Spectrum's side, but damn you WalMart!

If it says in the system it is with USPS then it is Assurent's responsibility that it is received. If they lost it is their loss... once you drop off the package and it is with the USPS and tracking shows it is picked up... then it is USPS and Assurent to find the package... That is Consumer Law.
The issue is the false/misleading timelines and misrepresentation of delivery process by USPS. Failure to scan deliveries by USPS is fraudulent. Spectrum gives us timelines for return and device trade in that are based on when items is delivered, not when we mail it.

Send the STright Talk your IMEI and purchase receipt they will activate it and process it.

So went to the post office, and figured I may be able to buy additional insurance (in case my phone gets lost or damaged). Nope.

If it gets lost or damaged in transit, only going to be covered for $100. Which is crap, considering my phone (256GB S22+) is in mint condition, unlocked, and probably worth at least $500.

Hope all goes well. Have done plenty of trade-ins with Samsung, but it's always a crapshoot when shipping anything in for trade in.

Starting to regret not just going to the store and getting my phone, since the double storage is not worth this headache (but too late for that, as I ordered before people started reporting rejected trade-ins and backed up deliveries.

If USPS loses it, I bet you they (USPS, Spectrum, and/or Assurant) will make you file a case with USPS and all you'll get is $100.

Which if you paid less than $100 for the phone isn't a big deal, but if you paid more you're going to be out the difference between what your phone is worth and $100. Which could be a sizeable amount. Then on top of that you could potentially be stuck with the S24/S24+/S24 Ultra if the 14-day return window closes.

Yes, I am not concerned about the insurance. That is the absolute least of my concerns. I am concerned about all the process breakdowns we are seeing.

Open Case with State Attorney General's Office they will assist you as they are going to recover fees form Assurant.

Get involved Postmaster General, and the State Attorney General's office ( they will fight for you and get paid from Assurant/Spectrum). File a complaint to the FCC/FTC too they will get involved. it is just time you have to spend to file a complaint and Spectrum/Assurant wants to resolve it ASAP else they will find more issues and open a broad investigation. Telling you after personal experience...

After seeing all these rejection comments, I quickly check Walmart phone box and looks like I bought SimpleMobile instead of StraightTalk. I tried to activate on SimpleMobile site and it was letting me move forward after adding IMEI and letting me choose plan etc. Does it mean I am good? Anyone on the the same boat?

I'm just saying if it hypothetically gets lost in the mail.

I don't think I've ever shipped something and put so much care/time into the process. And I've shipped hundreds of packages over the years.

Made sure the lithium battery label was in color, made sure the label was readable, included duplicates of the scan code receipt for Assurant in the box, packed it like it's extremely fragile (i.e. lots of packing material), taped it up super nice, etc. Then the pictures (so many pictures) and half a dozen or more videos.

Odds are definitely in your favor in terms of everything arriving in good shape especially since you did everything right. The main issues people are having here are related to the transit delays pushing people out of the 14 day return window and people having issues with rejected trade ins. I personally was not concerned about my device breaking or getting lost in transit, I was concerned about not being credited within the 14 day window, which unfortunately seems like will be the case. People reporting issues with trade ins getting rejected raised my concern level, but seems mostly related to a lot of people here buying phones from Walmart and Walmart not properly marking them in the system as being purchased. Hopefully they can get the situation fixed and have Assurant reprocess the devices.

I personally just did not expect that USPS would not properly process and scan deliveries in mass, while Assurant is also having delays, resulting in massive amounts of packages at destination not being marked as delivered and pushing people out of the 14 day return window without any information. If I had known that, I definitely would not have made the purchase. I had a smooth experience with my previous trade in without any of these issues.

Has anyone had success challenging if they come back denying due to the phone condition? 1/4 of my Lcd display is shot. Spectrum chat told me to mail it in. I also went to a store and had an employee give me the thumbs up. I took a video of the phones condition while in the store and mailed it off right from there. I am concerned they will deny it and then I am in that return period bind everyone else is worried about.
