I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

No, I just don't feel like helping ungrateful people. Simple as that.
The issue was not the help you were trying to provide, it was the manner in which you were doing it. If you want people to receive your advice/help better, do not try and cut them down and brag about how you were right. If you poke people then do not be upset if they poke back.

Can officially confirm. My credit hit my account today and automatically includes the tax refund also. I switched my payment method on my account to my preferred card for the refund and they sent it back to that one. So if you want to coordinate between credit rewards/debit then it can be done. This is consistent with my experience last year.

And for those wondering, got trade in approval confirmation yesterday and credit it account today. So even though it says 1-2 billing cycles, you can request your refund much sooner than that if paid in full.
Same here. Credit hit my account. Thanks guys for suggesting the debit card route to save on $8. I added a debit card and then chatted with rep. It was super smooth. They knew what i was going to ask and preempted with ask for last 4 of card on file. Once i mentioned the card's last 4, rep submitted a credit request. Can already see a pending credit on my debit card.. One of the smoothest trade in + deals from last few yrs... SD rocks, saves a lot of time and effort. The Chat support is v good and effective.

P.S: fyi, i sent my trade in device on same day i placed the order. 1st time doing this with Spectrum. I trusted it would end well based on all your comments / exp from previous deal of S23 series last yr.

Is the old $14 plan moving to $19.99? I see the price raise in my next month bill, but I never received the price raise notification.
Yes, the only notice they gave was a message in your January statement saying they were raising the price to $19.99 but extra gigs would only be $5 vs $14. I never check my statement online unless the amount in my payment email doesn't look correct. We should have received an email at least considering they send me two to three spam promotional emails a day.

I found this out after I did two trade-ins for S24s. Thankfully I just paid them in full versus the 36 month option. I'm still stuck with them for at least 60 days though so I can get the phones unlocked. I still had 9 payments to go on my Pixel Pro 7 though but I decided to pay it off and trade it in for an S24 Ultra. I have a total of four By the Gig lines so my monthly bill is going from $56 to $80. We never go over the 4GB of shared data so there is no benefit to the reduced extra GB cost.

After I get the three phones unlocked we are going to switch to US Mobile and give them a try. Worst case it they suck I will port two lines back to Spectrum Mobile for the $15/month unlimited promo for a year.

My S24+ never got shipped out from a week ago. When I contacted them for help they said their system had an internal error where it prematurely closed out the order before it was completed. They said to cancel and replace order but now I can't get the double memory and my trade-in shows as having a balance or something in their system. Very frustrating.

Agree, aside from the USPS issue (i.e. USPS not scanning delivery and Assurant not scanning as received) everything went smoothly like last year. Last year I did S23 a bit after launch when they were offering a $600 bonus credit. I noticed it after I found out that I had 12 months free mobile with my internet. I ordered and received the S23 the next day and sent the trade in that day. The trade in tracked correctly with USPS and was received a few days later and processed within 1 day. Credit hit the day after. Purchased with CC and sent back credit via debit. Seamless (except having to coordinate with FedEx due to the signature requirement for delivery).

This year the only thing that got me worried was USPS stopped tracking movement and people here started reporting issues with trade ins being denied. I was not too concerned about Assurant ultimately receiving my device but was concerned if my trade in was denied. Spectrum customer service is terrible in terms of fixing issues. If things go smoothly in their system, fine, but I have had bad experience with anything that deviates even slightly. That is what got me worried this go around.

But aside from the USPS delay, great. Double storage with the preorder and tax automatically refunded with the credit.

The only other difference is with the S23 I was able to get it unlocked immediately at the same time I requested by credit. With the S24 they are now saying 60 days. So for those actually planning to use the phone, I think this means you cannot do dual SIM mode with another carrier for the first 60 days.

Somebody else reported similar yesterday with an order being inexplicably cancelled. Did your trade in process with credit posted to your Spectrum account? Definitely be careful because the other person reported that they were told to place a second order and the credit would route to the new order but it did not.

It seems like SCAM run by USPS + Assurent.
Here is my timeline..
  1. Placed an order on 30h Feb. Spectrum flagged my Order telling me they needed to verify my residential proof.
  2. Uploaded my government-issued ID with the Address on it. they released my order and shipped it on the 2nd and received my order on the 5th.
  3. Once it shipped I shipped my Trade-in 2022 Moto-Stylus just brand new unlocked, on 3rd.
  4. Shows in USPS it was picked up in Fairfield,
  5. No further update. Was thinking that I lost my phone and parcel and had to return the phone.
  6. Called today the Postmaster at the local post office and asked whether the parcel is sitting at the post office or shipped.
  7. He did not answer and told me he would investigate and Give me a callback. Within 30 minutes he located the parcel in LEWISVILLE, TX's local post office. (He called me and updated me)
  8. After Post master's phone call. 15 mins received a text that the Parcel was ready for Delivery.
  9. Within 2 minutes, it updated its status to Delivered, Individual Picked Up at Postal Facility.
Seems like a Scam run by Assurent...

They pick up only the new packages and old packages are still sitting in TX.

UPDATE: IN ASSURENT SYSTEM IT SAYS " Your device was received at our warehouse on 02/07/2024. It should be assessed by 02/09/2024."

if I buy moto g pure 2021 from amazon and use it as trade in, Do I need to get that phone activated before trading it in?
https://www.amazon.com/TracFone-M...71413d0INT

with plan like this from target?
https://www.target.com/p/tracfone-unlimited-talk-text-plan-with-email-delivery/-/A-87908383?clkid=c1... [target.com]

Or Can I just trade it in without getting activated?
I currently have spectrum internet and have a mobile unlimited line with spectrum that comes out $69.99 per month and just placed order for the Moto G Pure 2021($25) from amazon and will be delivered this Sunday.
I am trying to get S24 128gb with unlimited plan that's 29.99. However since I already have a mobile line with them I think it will be just another 14.99 instead of full $29.99.
my plan is to have it +60 days and get it unlocked & cancel plan and give S24 to my father.

If I just take it to the spectrum store location, does it make the process easier..?

Guys, let be realistic here. The deal just got too much attraction this time around so USPS are dealing with a lot of packages and some package skipped the scan process. Judging from the fact that Assurant had to pick up the package from USPS instead of them delivering it. I would start to worry after two weeks if there are no update. Else, trust in the system since that's the typical process which is why I also hate doing trade in online, there are just so many parties involved and it can be troublesome. hug

Agree with this. What I think is illegitimate/fraudulent on USPS's behalf is that they did not perform delivery scans of packages. By not performing delivery scans on likely thousands of packages for several days it caused the USPS to appear as though packages were not making progress and when people made missing/lost claims with USPS they were being told the packages were likely lost. On the Assurant end, they were also not scanning packages that they took from USPS as being received. People here were mostly concerned with being out of the 14 day return window especially when by not scanning the packages everybody was taking culpability off of them self for the delay in processing and the customer would be stuck with the bill if things did not get processed correctly. Others who mailed packages later were getting processed and credits while many others were stuck with what appeared to be no progress for several days to a week+.

Glad it worked out for most of us, but it makes sense people got concerned when $700 and their trade in is on the line with a limited timeline and potentially having to deal with Spectrum customer service to resolve an issue.

As long as the IMEI is coming up clean and the device is paid off then it should be fine. The recent issue appears to be related specifically to Walmart not properly scanning devices as being purchased. Since there is no benefit anymore to purchasing online (i.e. no more free double storage) if you can just do it in store then they can just process your trade in at that time and save you from any uncertainty. If you do purchase it online it sounds like Assurant is getting caught up with trade ins and you might just want to keep your new phone in the package in case there is any issue with the trade in.

One potential perk to buying online versus in store is that you can purchase with a credit card online and then have the trade in credit sent to a different card (such as debit), which can have perks in terms of CC rewards. If you purchase in store and they apply the discount immediately then you cannot do this. Several people are now confirming that tax is being refunded with online purchases once the trade in is processed, it does not appear the lower tax thing is really an in store perk.

I should just take it to store to make things easier.

Seriously? I can't believe they are pulling this crap. Luckily I haven't sent in my trade-in yet as I have till end of this month according to the paper but I'm getting nervous now. The rep said he put in a support ticket for the order for me to still get the upgraded memory phone and wait up to 5 business days but I have my serious doubts and am getting nervous about approaching trade-in deadline. what a mess
