I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

I just finished my 4 new trade-in in store and profit more than $700 I upgraded single line 3 times.... Store manager was shocked.....
I get that some of these employees are completely dependent on the system telling them what they can or cannot do, but as a manager you would think they would be in a position to know that somebody coming in doing 4 trade in promotions on the same line and walking out with a wad of cash probably exploited your store.

One of my trade in now shows Available for Pickup at a Post Office in TX!

Do I call Assurant or Spectrum about this? Anyone else in same situation?

Nothing you need to do. Others have reported that status also. At least USPS was kind enough to do that scan for yours. Mine sat with no status update for a week and then Assurant said the trade in was processed, and USPS never did the delivery scan.

Has anyone tried to return phones to Spectrum? They only sent me a shipping label. Aren't there any other documents or anything to print to place inside the box?

Out of curiosity, is it a prepaid label and what shipping company do they use? Are they charging you a $50 restocking fee? The shipping label typically has an RMA number printed on it so that Spectrum can tell who the return is coming from. That being said, if they really sent you nothing else you could always print a second copy of the shipping label and put it in the box with the RMA number circled/highlighted. Or just call and ask them to confirm.

Are you still doing this all on the same line? My understanding is that they are only willing to unlock a phone that has been linked to a Spectrum line for at least 60 days. This is different than last year where you could unlock phones that are paid in full immediately. So if you bought multiple phones on the same line then in 60 days based on what they are saying now they will only unlock the latest one you activated since each new phone is replacing the previous on the line.

I have been stuck in this situation with other phone companies where they will not unlock unless you have had the phone linked/active on the line for a certain number of days even if paid in full.
yeah, same line... like last year's s23/flip 5 where I did a total of 4 trades in all on 1 line in store

This year, i'm using two lines, to speed up the back and forth.

So far for this 2024 promo, I have done 4 trade-ins using, acquiring 2 s24, 2 24+. My first deal was online to get the s24+ 512gb free memory upgrade as I plan to keep it and the other 3 I did in store.

I think he's traded in the locked phones back to spectrum so ultimately only the last phone is subject to the 60 day period

When I emailed Assurant, they said the phone they received was a different model, but the IMEI matches what I provided. A simple IMEI search online shows that the hardware specs matches the phone I sent. Despite giving them this info, they are not responding or willing to provide a photo or video of the phone that they received. I couldn't find a phone number for Assurant that works for Spectrum trade-ins.

The status on Assurant's website still shows my device is due to be assessed. When I call Spectrum they say to wait 1 to 2 billing cycles for Assurant to assess the phone. I'm also not able to return the S24+ because the 14 day deadline is past. Terrible service all around.

I'm not going to eat a $700 loss due to Assurant's incompetence and Spectrum's lack of customer service. I'll go the FCC, State Attorney General complaint route if I have to. Heck, I'll even do a chargeback if necessary.

But if you only have 2 lines and currently have more than 2 phones then obviously some of them are not linked to your account anymore. It will be interesting to see if they are willing to unlock all of them in 60 days. There seem to be mixed messages from customer service about the topic. If you do not have to have the phone linked to a line to unlock it, then in theory people do not even need to keep their extra lines active. So it makes a pretty big difference.

Sorry to hear about your issue, out of curiosity how big of a difference in price between the trade in they are claiming and the one you sent in?

Is your current status that they sent you a modified offer that they are waiting for you to accept?

I sent a Samsung Note 4 that was sitting in a drawer, which was $5 plus $700 promo. They are saying I sent them a Samsung S5 and they revised the value to $0, and it is not eligible for the trade in. They asked me to accept this offer, or decline and they would return the phone. Either they mixed up my phone with someone else, because only a blind person would miss the stylus included with the phone.

That is a tough situation but should be easy for them to sort out. If they mixed up your device with somebody else then they should see your original IMEI in the system linked to another assessment, and if they did not mix up your device then they should be able to look at it again. Hopefully Assurant sorts it out for you but at least you listed some reasonable backup options. Will be interested to hear how it resolves. I have heard of others report that Assurant has fixed errors so it is not hopeless.

Knowing Spectrum's lack of customer service and their tendency defer the problem to Assurant, combine that with Assurant's general lack of CS, I'd say you have very little chance of getting this sorted by waiting. They are just giving the standard answer of 1-2 billing cycles to buy more time without any actions being taken. You should at least try to escalate with Spectrum mgmt and if no resolution then take it up with FCC.

It should be easy to sort out, but Assurant customer service seems to have no power over the warehouse staff who assesses the phones. All they've done so far is repeat that the warehouse team found a Galaxy S5 with my IMEI, even though it is impossible for that IMEI to be anything but for a Note 4.

I've asked them to escalate my ticket to a supervisor in the warehouse, and send me a picture or video of the phone, but they have now become unresponsive via email. I can't believe that Assurant has such a crappy process, considering they are used by so many carriers.
