I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Checked my local spectrum store, employee said my account only able to order online, I questioned and he showed me the screen that is what is showing. He said can try another store and see. Anyone has similar experience?

Has anyone tried to return phones to Spectrum? They only sent me a shipping label. Aren't there any other documents or anything to print to place inside the box?
Write #Return number " #order number" on the shipping label.

It should be easy to sort out, but Assurant customer service seems to have no power over the warehouse staff who assesses the phones. All they've done so far is repeat that the warehouse team found a Galaxy S5 with my IMEI, even though it is impossible for that IMEI to be anything but for a Note 4.

I've asked them to escalate my ticket to a supervisor in the warehouse, and send me a picture or video of the phone, but they have now become unresponsive via email. I can't believe that Assurant has such a crappy process, considering they are used by so many carriers.
The difference is other carriers sometimes are willing to step up and make you whole despite Assurance incompetence whereas spectrum is happy to give you the runaround and dodge any responsibility.

Ironically, I'm in the same exact boat. Sent in a Note 4, and it said it would be assessed by 2/16. I received an e-mail this morning saying my trade in has been reduced to $0 but the link shows no updated or assessed value. The e-mail also states no reaosn for why it was reduced.. I call Spectrum, and they tell me eh, wait until end of day, but regardless, because I sent in a phone, i may get $0 on the trade in but I absolutely 100% will get the $700 promotional. I say ok. I checked the website for updates today and NOW it says assessed by the 18th, even though I have an e-mail stating it was already done.

Such a wacky system.

Interesting. Did Assurant or Spectrum actually state that you will get $700 promo even though they changed it to $0 for the trade in?

I never got an email that the trade in was done. I only found out after I emailed Assurant.

Unfortunately Spectrum's trade in terms say the final value of the device must be $1 or greater for the promotion value to kick in.

Spectrum rep. The crazy part is the phone is working. I recorded myself turning it on, using it, shutting it off, packaging it and even signing and dating the box.

Well that's no good... I'll just force them to return it or chargeback. A rep told me they could return it and just send me another and I was within my return window. Then another rep said I'm passed that date. They don't know what they're doing...

Never charged back anything in my life but I'm not losing $700 cus they f* up.

I'll also note, this is the e-mail i got... Literally just a bullet point and no reason. Their portal said 2/16 and still evaluating and now it says 2/18, even though I got an e-mail. It's wild.

We've received your device and, upon inspection, have adjusted the offer. Please accept or decline the offer before 3/1/2024. See below for details and next steps.

no rules, terms, or policies are being broken. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
I have strong suspicion that you have not read the rules/terms/policies because if you did you would know that they absolutely have the right to refuse you from doing what you did. They can refuse to sell you a device for whatever reason they want. You can read countless posts here where others have reported that they have been refused. If you re-read my comment, it was not about hating "the player", it was about Spectrum employees.

If you truly feel that you found an infinite money glitch, how about go back and just have the manager do it 1,000 times? Why did you stop at 4?

Part of it could be because we are not just talking about trade in price but the $700 promotion attached. That being said, the trade in is just performative anyway since you can trade in a phone that is worth $5 and still get the $700 credit.

Your situation sounds different. I think free4ever said that Assurant reported their device as a completely different device. If yours is showing as the correct device then it may be for some other reason. If I recall correctly, I think some people said that the adjustment reason can take until the next day to show up. It is strange that both are with Note 4's, though, might just be coincidence.

You got a source for those rules/terms/policies? Spectrum's own website says the line and device are eligible for upgrade. Just because their software limits some arbitrary number of orders or trade-ins, doesn't mean any specific terms are violated. Go ahead and quote the policy, I'll wait.

a data point for my journey on this deal

ordered on 1/27

shipped 1/30

delivered 1/31

shipped walmart moto g play 2023 trade-in on 2/2

assurant received phone on 2/5, assessment estimated completion 2/7

found out about people getting the failing the assessment because of antitheft because walmart didn't scan the phone properly

sent information in wiki to pop@tracfone end of day 2/5

on 2/8 assurant changes assessment date to 2/9

around 2/8 or so the phone could be activated on straight talk but no email back from tracfone (still no email as of 2/17)

2/9 passes and assurant changes assessment date back to 2/7

return window closed 2/13

received assessed device email from assurant on morning of 2/14

spectrum places the credit in my account as billing credit on morning of 2/15

on mid day 2/15 i request credit be refunded to debit card via the phone line (paid with different CC initially)

received refund on debit card on 2/16

lessons learned: make sure devices can be activated before sending them in for trade-in/credit, avoid online trade-in unless major benefit over physical trade-in (the double storage does not outweigh the amount of stress checking on status of this daily for me)
