I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

I have received an email saying the trade-in value adjusted to zero. The reason is "NO Power". The device was flawless. The link says the device needs to be assessed on 02/26. I am not understanding what to do now. Did anyone face the same issue?

Don't believe the previous response. If you are still on a payment plan (even if that payment plan has credits that make the payment from you $0), the phone isn't paid off and would be blocked from trade in

Does anyone know definitively whether you can unlock a phone if you cancel the line you got it on?

Example, I got 2 new phones paid in full on 2 new lines. If I cancel line 2, will I be able to unlock the phone purchased on that line in 60 days?

I remember someone on one of these Spectrum posts had the same issue, but it was a $15/20 difference so they let it go...
Mine is about double that. Thinking about just letting it go also because I do not want to risk giving them any excuse to screw things up further. Maybe I should just accept and then send them a message and if they do not fix then file BBB complaint to try and get the difference. May not have success but at least can lock in the original amount. I really do not understand how a company that specializes in cell phone trade ins can have so many armature issues unless they are being told to commit acts of fraud and hope people just put up with it so they can pocket the difference.

Did you possibly leave your phone on during transit and battery drained? I would imagine Assurant would plug in but they seem to be incompetent. The website seems to not update until later in the day from when the e-mail is sent out.

This is in NY state so your state might differ, I just did Razr+ trade in and gave S24.

Phone cost $800 + $64 tax.
Trade in phone value $385 and $800 in bonus credit.

At store, the $800 in bonus credit cancelled the cost. And also came a tax refund for $64. So the extra $385 was credited back Spectrum account. You chat in and get it back to your card (look in this thread people have posted on what you need to do)
'wow, really nice!
i just came back from trade in razr plus for S24+. no luck offset tax. but confired if there is an overage, i can get credit back. Probably should have gotton S24 for some profit.....

I traded in Note 4 which Assurant received on Feb 4. Haven't received any email from Assurant yet, the portal still shows the status - "Your device was received at our warehouse on 02/04/2024. It should be assessed by 02/07/2024." I tried to email the Assurant team but no help so far. I just got a lame reply "Sent over to warehouse for further investigation".

Was anyone able to successfully trade in Note 4? Device is fine in working condition.
Yes I did. It was on att list then. Page 146 has my delivery drama

Well the S24+ should sell for more and / or will make for a better trade in phone for future deals (not talking just spectrum). It seems that the crowds think the S24+ is the winner this go round, perfect balance of price and power.

Assurant just accepted my locked T-Mobile S23U, which I still owe money on. The stores also accept locked Metro A15. Your information is wrong.

ignore them, they like to complain and FUD. We'll just be rolling the trades. Smilie

Yeah bruh, I have traded in 100 phones just today bruh. They were all blacklisted IMEIs and covered in dog turds. The Spectrum store I went to thanked me and gave me a shoulder massage for clearing out their entire inventory. I'm so cool and totally being honest, bruh. Even though the trade in rules on the Spectrum trade in site say the trade in device must be paid off just ignore them. Just FUD. Heck I traded in a device I snatched off an old lady in the parking lot, bruh. That's how we roll.

I'm not sure if were were chatting earlier or it was someone else, but there was clearly an issue with note 4's. I talked to multiple people at Spectrum and nothing, e--mailed Assurant and they said they'd look into Tuesday and nothing. I contacted BBB, FTC, FCC and my attorney general as Spectrum told me tough luck.

How long did it take for Assurant to respond to you via e-mail?

I canceled 2nd line after unlocking the device, but wondering if they don't unlock 2nd line device after canceling, you can move it to first line temporarily and ask for unlock again after 60 days.

I e-mailed them Monday at 6pm and got a response the response below at 10am on Tuesday.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for contacting us. I have sent an inquiry to my warehouse management team to see if we can have the device located. Once they contact me with their findings, I will be sure to reach out to you as soon as possible.
