I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.

Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Just wanted to share a nuggest with those wanting to reset the firmware via the odin method mentioned several pages above. Based on my (so far) succesful experience doing that, most of what I saw noted that you would wipe everything on the phone after updating the firmware, but if you select the home version of the csc file, it actually keeps everything that you previously had on the phone. I've used the updated s24+ for a day now on tmobile, works great. For those still wanting to do this, read the instructions very carefully, wipe all accts, remove all security, get dev mode on, usb debugging turned on, install samsung usb drivers on the pc, watch youtube vids to get into download mode. Certainly seemed very risky doing this to my new 1k phone, but for those wanting to gamble, good luck to all of you.

Did this affect your ESIM after flashing?

So I'm checking the Samsung firmware download website and it seems like not many people have flashed the unlocked firmware yet. Is everyone still waiting for the unlock?

My date has passed (yesterday) but haven't contacted Spectrum yet because I'm lazy.

So I ported the phone number I had originally associated with ESIM1 to another phone and then removed the existing ESIM1 prior to flashing (from SIM Manager). I had a physical nano sim from TMobile that I put into the phone after the flashing.

You can use other Sims but it won't give you the best service. I was on 4G all day using my T-Mobile SIM. After I flashed the unlocked firmware it was 5g all day long.
T-Mobile physical sim works fine for me in LA / OC. Shows 5G+

Speedtest.net - 660Mbps down, 45Mbps up
fast.com - 580Mbps down, 29Mbps up

I unlocked my 2 phones via chat today without any issue. I tried to port one of the number into Metro for a Iphone 12 deal but it doesn't work. I tried it again and Metro said the number is no longer available for porting.

I also flashed the unlocked image successful but saw no speed test difference using TMO sim card.

I tried to unlock via chat and I was told IMEI not in the system, wondering if it is because I didn't use phone for 60 days as I upgraded few days afterwards? Somehow store should be able to unlock, which I don't understand.

I only used my spectrum phones to make 1 phone call before I turn them off these 2 months.

May be I should move current SIM in to this device and request unlock, probably associate didn't know where to look for previously used devices. I will give it a shot before going in to a store.

I ported out the number from spectrum. Will I get any un-used remaining balance?

The IMEI is only found when you have the sim inserted. Otherwise, if you have the sim included in a different device, they will only see the IMEI for that one instead.

They can only unlock these remotely so they need to see the device on the account.

Thanks for the info, that's what might have happened, this is eSIM and I deleted eSIM before unlocking. Probably I should have waited until it is unlocked. Now I need to put back SIM and give it a try.

So those have traded in on a single line with multiple phones, can't unlock those without sim inserted?
Then they would be screwed....just saying

No you just insert the sim back in when asking for unlock.

The sim doesn't need to stay the whole 60 days.
