Editor's Notes & Price Research

Our research indicates that this offer (Men's, Navy) is $4.88 lower (7% savings) than the next best available price from a reputable merchant with prices starting from $74.83.
Returns and exchanges are free, including return shipping for most orders.
Cheapest shipping option is $10, free shipping with orders over $75, so unless you buy something else, might as well buy them for $80 on amazon with free shipping and easier returns if they don't fit.
Altras are great shoes. High quality and good for your feet.
That being said they are not for everyone. I don't tend to be picky about my trail shoes; as long as it's one of the main brands I like 😂 Saucony, Salamon, Hoka, Brooks... These didn't cause any foot pain or wear out too soon IMO. But I found that the zero drop design slowed me down. I consistently ran faster in my Peregrines. I still love my Altras for hiking, but I won't buy any more of them when they wear out.

Everyone's feet are different but mine have loved the last three generations of them. I use them for standing on concrete for long hours and they're very comfortable but since they're made for trail, the bottoms wear out quickly. I keep hoping someone will come out with a pair this comfortable that's also waterproof and has a flat tread pattern but no dice in 4 years.
The uppers will self destruct quickly. I left Altra's for trail and ultra stuff a couple years ago and went to Topo's. Much better and longer lasting shoe.

What model of topo did you find to be like the lone peak? Are you using them for trail running?

I bought these for the rainforest. I got them from REI and loved them, turned them into my daily shoes. Lasted for 1.5years. I still have them since they are in good condition, just wore the soles down.
