Worked great during a few blackouts here in metro Detroit so far. Runs my lights, internet, TV, electronics etc., and probably the microwave if I'm careful enough. I've idled it through the night without issue.
Manual says E10 is okay so that's what I run, just need to keep up on maintenance. make sure to follow the oil change guidance, and set the fuel switch to off and run it until the carb is empty before you put it away.

I've done it with a cheaper/smaller gen I've had for years in the past and it has kept some critical things going through several extended outages. I now have a bigger 3200/4000W dual fuel using propane, which would be my first resort during an outage over 8h or so - once the battery/inverter needs topping off. Portable generator + battery/inverter is a good setup for locations with recurring power outages, especially when paired with solar panels which can help you do some 'peak trimming' to reduce your power bill in the summer.
I've been watching this deal, don't really need it because I have two other generators - but there's definitely an urge to get one of these which will likely last decades with low use / regular maintenance. Kind of a bummer it doesn't have a NEMA L5-30 outlet, same for the .omission of 12V DC output on this model.

for those on the fence. these are the real deal and actually fully serviceable and repairable unlike a lot of the other brands and yamaha EF2000is-clones
our utility company and cable company have fleets of these that are deployed during major storm repairs that power equipment, lighting, etc
during hurricane sandy where it was expected in our area to be without power in upwards of almost 2 weeks, Comcast went around to the power supply points in the neighborhood and ran EU2000's to power the hubs so households would have cable services (TV, Phone, Internet). they triple chained them to the poles
If you are running a business at the farmer's market or another place where noise reduction and quality is imperative, then I can see this being you jam, but keep in mind this machine is only about 5 db quieter than some of the knock offs on the market.
There are a number of 3rd party accessories available for these and the EU2200s have a fuel pump so can also run off of an external tank ie a boat tank and add 3, 5 or however many gallons of fuel you'd like. Also much safe to fill an external tank than to put gas in a running generator. If you need spare parts like a replacement carb I suspect a Honda will be much easier to source parts.
