It doesn't "gum up" The ethanol arnd gasoline seperate from sitting and a layer of water forms between them, the water and Ethanol feed a specific bacteria that forms very corrosive acid and such which eats through rubber hoses, melts fiberglass, and with aluminum carbs, heads, etc it eats the coating off and corrodes the metal. The oxidation is so puffy (it is nasty puffed up crust) that nothing flows. It is "rust" but from aluminum. Trust if it were "gummed up" you could simply run fresh gas and carb cleaner through it and restore it to health. The acid literally destroys the parts requiring replacement. This begins about 2-3 weeks after you purchase the fuel. Stabilizer does not inhibit this, it slows it but it doesn't neutralize the effect.

Comes up as $899 with veteran account. Damn good deal, but I have one of the older models without bluetooth already.

Worked great during a few blackouts here in metro Detroit so far. Runs my lights, internet, TV, electronics etc., and probably the microwave if I'm careful enough. I've idled it through the night without issue.

Manual says E10 is okay so that's what I run, just need to keep up on maintenance. make sure to follow the oil change guidance, and set the fuel switch to off and run it until the carb is empty before you put it away.

Honda is the best, but at this point there are other models with similar (or better) features that cost much less. I have used both Predator and Generac models that have 1000s of hours on them. The generac puts out 2800 which is all the difference for my camper A/C. It is also very quiet.
Got my 3500W Predator from HF for $700. Yes, it is heavy, but I'd need two of these to do what my Predator does. Had it three years now stored outside and it always starts.

Use Stabil, or similar, in the gas, and stop worrying. I do that with my "garage gas can" and it's fine for a year or so. My old motorcycles, which hardly ever get ridden, start up just fine with Stabil as well.

I own two of the older non Bluetooth models and I absolutely love them, quiet, easy to start, easy to maintain and super reliable.

If you need go from Point A to Point B in any terrain - Toyota Landcruiser

If you need power generator that will run forever - Honda Generator

MADE IN JAPAN

My father had a Honda generator that we bought brand new in the 90's. Still runs to this day and worth a good penny still

wish they would take out the stupid shit like the bluetooth and the CO sensor, and just let the tried and true design be that's been the same for almost 20 yrs
just more things to break

for those on the fence. these are the real deal and actually fully serviceable and repairable unlike a lot of the other brands and yamaha EF2000is-clones
our utility company and cable company have fleets of these that are deployed during major storm repairs that power equipment, lighting, etc

during hurricane sandy where it was expected in our area to be without power in upwards of almost 2 weeks, Comcast went around to the power supply points in the neighborhood and ran EU2000's to power the hubs so households would have cable services (TV, Phone, Internet). they triple chained them to the poles

well at least it aint a Jeep though....LMAOLMAOLMAO

definitely why it won't run. You could be lucky if you remove the bowl and spray some carb cleaner up the jet. Most likely, removing the carb and manual cleaning will get it done. If you can find it near you, get ethanol free gas.
This is why I'll be buying the EcoFlow electric/solar generator. My electric doesn't go out too often and I would really only need it for the fridge/freezer and maybe internet. I don't need a whole house generator either. These generators are probably great if you don't mind maintenance, but I cut as much maintanence out of my life as possible. It is the way!

Why not have a transfer switch with more granular options?
Transfer switch is nice for a standby generator that's gonna kick on immediately not really sure about using it with a portable generator. It's also more money to install then just a receptacle. Works fine for me for all these years.

The EU2200i generators are no longer made in Japan, haven't been for several years. They are now made in Thailand. Still the best small generator in the world though.

EU7000is is now made in India.

I think the only inverter generators Honda still make in Japan are the new EU3200i and the legendary EU3000is.
