Same. TurboTax attempts to simplify the process by creating cartoonish situations that take forever to click through and before you know it, you're 5 pop-ups deep to get to an answer that should have been on the first window. HR Block is the way to go if you have limited patience. 😁
My hesitation with any of these online services is that they retain all of your info for 8 or more years, which means any future breaches will include absolutely everything needed for someone trying to steal your tax return, since normally the IRS will verify it's you by asking for info from a previous return.
It's a big target and I don't trust these companies to keep the data secure if they're storing it.
I like H&R Block, they really dumb it down for me

Does anyone know if the Deluxe version can do rental property, income, and expenses? I know the Premium version does it, but Premium costs more than Deluxe.

Good to know! Thank you and repped! Do we have to download right away after you purchase? And did you download the PC version to a PC, and a Mac version to a Mac? I don't know which computer (PC or Mac) I will be getting/using in March thus wondering.
I don't know how long the download is available after purchase, but I recommend downloading both PC and Mac versions after purchase. The software will offer updates after installation. You can download either version on both PC and Mac. Just copy it to a flash drive that is in a readable format for the target OS.

Does anyone know if H&R block's multiple state features handle splitting W-2s between states well? I moved early 2023 and my W-2 is split across multiple states where one state did not have income tax and the new (current) state does.
You can get a combo with a 20 dollar Uber Eats gift card for 34.00. Brings the price of the actual software to 14 bucks. They also have other gift card combos. At least it is something I will use. I do not need Norton crap
I need to file taxes for two states, because my rental property is in another state other than my own state of residence. So, buying one federal + state program is not adequate to meet my tax filing needs. What would be a relatively cheaper way for me to do this? Buy the discounted federal + state version of H&R Block first, and then buy and add/download another state (which is at full price)? Or buy two federal + state programs separately both at discounted prices, and then somehow combine the two later?
I am not sure if my question makes sense. Thank you for your attention and advice.

It makes sense and from what I have read it can be done using two computers. Don't take this as gospel as I have never done it and am going from memory. Might be wrong on details but it gets the gist of it. Your second option is the way to do it the cheapest.
Buy two software packages, Fed + State.
Install on two different computers.
Do federal and state on the first.
Export that federal to the second machine
Install the other state there and complete
I may be missing something. Look in other Block deals thread from this year or any previous year. Multiple members have posted the steps every year.. Looking at last year deals may be best as these FreTaxUSA people are cluttering up this year's deals and making finding info hard. I have been a a few threads and do not recall seeing it this year but could have missed it.
Can also hope someone will come along here and help. Sorry I can't help more.
I dumbly bought Deluxe only without state and have now realized I still need to file in a state (non-resident). Does anyone have a state only activation key for sale?
