Try going into the picture settings and turn the black level up from the default of 50 by two or three ticks. That resolved the crushing for me when I got my G2. For reference I followed Classy Tech's settings guide which includes that recommendation:

Why would you not get the G2 and for less?

Edit: Nevermind, you got the bigger TV

Anyone happen to know if you can turn the brightness way down without crushing? I assume OLED would be best at this, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I know most people want it to get as bright as it can, but it's going in a dark room for late night watching.

I would recommend a sony oled for dark rooms. Picture processing is superior to LG in Sony

Any insight if the OLED 77 C3 will be marked down in the next few weeks? Doesn't look like much difference between C3 and G2.

I think the lowest so far I've seen on the 77" C3 was roughly $2,200. I imagine it will get to $2,000 soon at some point.

Hoping that it goes down to $1700-$1800 closer to Super Bowl, but that might be a pipe dream.

The G3 is the better OLED, but the G3 77" will take a while to get down to $2145. The G3 77 was ~$2600 a few months ago, but I haven't seen it go that low since.

At like twice the cost, lol... I don't think MLA is worth twice the price.

Very similar, but the increased brightness and appearance of the G2 are what put it above the C3

IDK why this deal isn't getting as much love considering it beats the current FP deal by $165

I was really torn between this and the S89C for $2K but after all my research, I landed on this set over the S89 from Samsung.
