Ummm...to watch TV? I'm sure I'm not alone in having Apple TV 4K boxes attached to all my TV's and couldn't care less about the apps and "processing" built in. I need a TV that displays a great picture. Period.
The one at Costco is more recent model with faster processor, 120hz, etc. Got it for 900 in December.
specs say 60 Hz refresh rate for this TV.

look at that, you're absolutely right. my apologies, they must be running a promo for that specific TV. Usually installs aren't included with any membership , unless they run special promos. (i work for geek squad)
Well, pretty much any TV I put in my cart with delivery/setup/mounting is FREE. I think it's just part of the $179/yr Total plan.

Will most people be able to tell the difference between this and OLED? Debating upgrading my 3 year OLED 65". I use my Roku 99% of the time.

That's $100 - $200 extra cost…

Is this the same TV as the one on Costco at https://www.costco.com/lg-86%22-c...53824.html for $1099 ?
No but this exact tv is $999 at BJs right now and its 120hz vs 60hz of this model

you will 100000000% see a difference, that's a major downgrade. you're going from top of the line , to bottom of the barrel.

Been using this TV for a year. The best way to give you an experience will be the following: If you're going from an OLED to this, you're gonna notice a couple things different and feel sad. If you are going from a smaller similar tv to this you will love it. If you're going from a projector (not sure if that's still a thing) you are gonna get blown away. Even at 60 hertz I use for sports, Nintendo switch gaming, and Netflix/other apps that have 4k. All fine. I test my tv by listening to ppl who come over and use it. Since they won't have a dog in the fight, they are usually more honest. For 800 dollars, totally worth it cause at worst you will upgrade in 2 years. If you are buying a $3000 TV you are most likely not gonna upgrade to a cheap 100 in TV anytime soon while those of us who get these cheaper models always have that option and don't feel like we are breaking the bank. Once my 100 in comes in, this one becomes my bedroom TV, mostly used for watching p0rn and at 86" inches it's pretty scary at times.

Meh. Even at the price, why bother. The processing sucks, limited features, no gaming features at all, etc.
So wouldn't want to get this and play Microsoft Flight Simulator or other XBox games?

You'll want a TV with HDMI 2.1 ports, 120hz refresh, and low input lag. If you're looking for an 85, the Sony X90L or Hisense U8K are the best mid range options. Both are under $2K.

Disagree; when buying anything expensive or not, it is essential to know about any negatives(recalls). These will affect you.
Not saying you shouldn't mention the negatives at all. Just noting that the people point out some of these negatives as if people are buying the TV expecting OLED quality. The people buying this TV aren't expecting top-tier picture quality and are completely satisfied with a decent picture at this price point.

Delivery/setup/mounting is part of the Total Tech plan. You just have to supply the mount. If you want free mounting you have to do it within the current timeframe of your current plan because they eliminated free setup/mounting after August of 2023. If you bought your yearly plan before that time you will still get free setup/mounting until the current plan expires. I got my plan in July of 2023 so I have until July of 2024 to take advantage of it.

Total Tech was the membership that offered free installs, they got rid of that plan.
You can still take advantage of that plan if you bought it before August/September last year when they eliminated that benefit as part of the plan. You can get free setup/mounting until your current 1 year plan runs out. I bought mine in July when I purchased an 85" Hisense. I can still get free setup/mounting up until this July.

I know how to mount a TV. I've done all of them in my house (4 on walls) myself. An 86" is a lot of trouble.
Totally agree. I've mounted multiple TVs in my house and I still don't want to go through the hassle of mounting an 86" myself.

correct , they grandfathered in people with the old membership but will automatically renew to the new $180 plan. I've been telling all my clients that still have the old total tech plan to take advantage before they lose it.
