Ummm...to watch TV? I'm sure I'm not alone in having Apple TV 4K boxes attached to all my TV's and couldn't care less about the apps and "processing" built in. I need a TV that displays a great picture. Period.
The one at Costco is more recent model with faster processor, 120hz, etc. Got it for 900 in December.
specs say 60 Hz refresh rate for this TV.

Thanks for saying this. It gets old that with almost every TV post someone comes in to point out all the things they think are negatives that make the TV a bad deal. Most people don't need all the bells and whistles and are likely not gaming on an 86" screen. All most consumers are looking for is a TV with a decent picture at a reasonable price. This TV does that. If you want more features and better specs then fork out 4-5x this price and move on.
Disagree; when buying anything expensive or not, it is essential to know about any negatives(recalls). These will affect you.
This is a low end LG TV despite is gigantic size I got a 75 inch one the worst part is the black definition is very poor. Not recommend for watch movie
If I didn't think first, I'd have a TV that is too big for my entertainment center! I could mount it to the wall but that's a lot of trouble.
EDIT: I'm a Total member and delivery and mounting are FREE! Now the problem is figuring out how to not get in trouble when this shows up?
Is there something special you have to do for this? I added total membership to my cart and it says that "member benefits apply to this order", but it's still charging me $249 for mounting?

Total Tech was the membership that offered free installs, they got rid of that plan.
Mounting a TV isn't hard. Just need a stud finder, level, and good drill, two or three screws into the wall and a friend to help you lift it onto the hooks.
I know how to mount a TV. I've done all of them in my house (4 on walls) myself. An 86" is a lot of trouble.

I believe there are two tiers of Total membership. I have the one that comes with all the benefits ($179/yr) and it gives me free delivery, setup and mounting.
look at that, you're absolutely right. my apologies, they must be running a promo for that specific TV. Usually installs aren't included with any membership , unless they run special promos. (i work for geek squad)

Completely different model number and series, so I would say 'no'.

I've always just gotten the biggest for the cheapest in the past and never noticed how different the quality can be.
Large living room perhaps?

You know many people don't have a Costco membership, right?
Most people place it over the fireplace which is a TV killer but to each their own !!
"Most" people do not place it above a fireplace.
