I had the 43 inch version of this TV and it was terrible. Sent it back and got a TCL. The Pioneer's picture was worse than old cheap 1080p TVs I've seen. Looks like something out of a Dollar General. Don't do it
Who remembers when Pioneer had the Kuro and it was the best plasma TV? Now they sell a TV that isn't even mid tier.
What do you expect for $299?

I've had the 43" for a couple months now. If you're a Comcast/Xfinity customer the XumoOS on this TV allows you to get the Xfinity Stream app which lets you get the TV channels over wifi, no additional box needed from Comcast. If you only pay for internet service you can still get a few free basic TV channels. It's fine for an aux TV, bedroom TV that is barely used but I'd put something nicer in the main living area for your movie nights.

The smaller 50" Pioneer TV of this same series is Made in Thailand, so it's not made by Hisense. The larger 55" and 65" are assembled in Mexico.

They are made by TCL which owns the rights to the name.

There is zero truth to this. Why comment just to spread misinformation? Voxx International & Foxconn own Pioneer and have licensing agreements allowing others to use the name. TCL owns nothing. RCA, Pioneer, Sharp, Toshiba, JVC etc. do not make televisions, they're simply names licensed to the Chinese to use on their inferior products.

This TV is the reason I won't buy a Pioneer head unit for my car even if they still make car audio themselves. Selling its brand, taking subsidies from streaming platform (xumo), and joining the race to bottom? The company is in trouble.

I will buy a Sony or Alpine instead.
Oh yes because Sony is so much better because they use Chinese labor & inferior Chinese parts. 🤡

Pioneer home electronics was sold to Onkyo and now Chinese company owns Onkyo. So yea don't expect quality from the original Pioneer brand
Not completely true. Onkyo is only partially owned by a Chinese company & partially owned by a USA company. 🤡

Depending of brands...if you go for Chinese brands yes
Well let say Sony for example. What would be the reasonable price point?

I would avoid Pioneer "smart" products. Couple years out they will stop supporting the "smart" functionality and none of the apps will work. It's their standard practice to strand customers. Did it to me on an app enable blue ray player and on my 60 inch plasma. Better off buying your best price & picture tv then use a Roku or Fire Stick.
