Tracfone is currently in the process of migrating everyone to VoLTE. The phone in this deal is VoLTE ready.

The truth is, no one knows what will happen at the end of November 2024 when the Verizon acquisition is official. Verizon has said "Your current Tracfone Service Plan will remain available for use on VoLTE-ready phones at least until Nov. 23, 2024." It has not announced what will happen to legacy Tracfone plans after that date. My guess is Verizon will consolidate Tracfone users into one of its already existing pre-paid phone plans like Total. But again, this is speculation. The Tracfone brand is relatively well known so the company may choose to keep it.

Commenting here just so others know - After 60 days, it will be NETWORK Unlocked. However the BOOTLOADER is LOCKED FOREVER. So, don't make the mistake I did thinking you could De-Google the phone and put Lineage OS on it - Because you can't. Hope this helps someone out there

Believe it or not, there are many people who don't use their phone to control their life. I see no reason to spend hundreds on a cell phone. I don't use my phone for anything financial wise. I use it as a phone, text, and to sometimes check the weather. Rarely do I use it for internet search. 1500 minutes easily last me a year or more. Occasionally I have to buy more texts, a month before my year is up. I have used cheaper tracfones for years.

It works with just wi-fi, of course. It does support usb otg with an adapter.
