The GE Indoor Smoker was just released at CES 2024 just two weeks ago.

It has amazing reviews on every review site, and many youtube videos are praising this.

It allows you to smoke meat indoors without any smoke being released into the house.

I just ordered mine the first day it came out for $999.99 and they seem to be offering a 30% discount code at amazon today to get user adoption.

It's the same price everywhere, Best Buy, Williams Sonoma etc. Normal retail price on new product.

I backed the Kickstarter for this product before GE threw its badge on the product. I have been using it since December. My primary outdoor smoker is a 40in electric MES. My biggest qualm with my current outdoor smoker is that it is more temperamental smoking food in the winter because of wind and lower temperatures.

In a nutshell, this is an amazing product given its an indoor smoker. Just be realistic with your expectations. Don't expect the smoke taste to be as pronounced as a dedicated outdoor smoker. It works well overall and I have made some really good ribs, brisket, and chicken. Stronger woods like hickory or mesquite give a stronger smoked flavor. Exterior temperature shouldn't affect your cooking either since you will be using this unit indoors.

Pros
Its an indoor smoker
You don't have to go outside to refill pellets or wood chips
Temperature control is consistent
App is helpful and the unit controls are very intuitive

Cons
The smoked taste isn't as pronounced as my outdoor smoker
The pellet hopper bin is a little small (roughly 4 hours of smoke time)
No sensor to let you know to refill the pellets

It looks like it would be a nightmare to clean... at least my outdoor smoker is caked with crud, so I can only imagine this would end up the same?

Idea seems pretty cool, why is no one taking about the size of it? It seems super small.. so you cut your meat into multiple small portions?

Surprisingly not as bad as my MES smoker. It smolders the pellets so soot isn't really an issue. Grease on the other hand.... Stove top cleaner seems to do a good enough job though.

Yup, that's the tradeoff for a countertop appliance. It can do a whole brisket (cut in half), smaller turkey, chicken, duck, and 3 racks of ribs (cut in half).
