And someone explain why so many speakers that are considered very good sounding to so many people that have a lot of experience with listening so many different speakers, also happen to have a consistently even frequency responses that is within a few db's from 20hz to 20khz. Is it just coincidence??!! 🤣😘😘
Spoiler alert… it isn't.

The question is simple, but thread crappers rarely seem to get to the point that people are actually looking for: what <$200/pair of floor speakers are better than these?

You might. You might not. Read the thread. Some ppl think measurements are useless when determining the sound of a speaker. That's simply nonsensical. Measurements DEFINITELY tell you if the bass peaks at a certain frequency range, or if the bass, midrange, and treble are out of balance and all over the place….like this speaker.
What measurements CAN'T tell you is if you'll "like" the sound the speaker makes.
What you "like" is subjective. Just listen to the kids and their boom and sizzle car stereos they spend a lot of time and money on, for an example. They "like" that.
If you're truly interested in what a lot of ppl who took part in listening tests consider good sound, look up the research that resulted in the "harman curve".
As far a similarly priced new speakers, do some research on the monolith speakers at monoprice and some of the speakers at parts-express that both sound "good" and measure well.
These jamo's are an example of all show=no go

Did you totally ignore the detailed listening and measurements for this speaker I linked to by someone who has tested hundreds of speakers?! Lol.
Do you actually think it's easy (and simple) to find a pair of actually good "200/pair of floor speakers" unless at a serious discount? And why do you need floor standing speakers? Ppl think they'll automatically get "more" from a floor stander besides a built in stand, but that's often not the case when you're talking about "cheap" speakers like these. You'd be waaaay better if with a pair of actually good bookshelves that do great at mids and highs and a subwoofer that will create bass way better than a small floor standing speaker ever could.
You're first step should be looking at a speakers that have independent measurements that show the speaker outputs a signal that is at least close to the signal that is input without excessive distortion or compression at the loudest volumes you are going to be listening at.
Once you settle on those, you should start your listening tests to see which has the sound and fidelity that makes you happy.
Speakers that measure and sound well aren't "cheap"
Here's a start..
$150 NEUMI Silk 4 Compact 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers, Stereo Pair, Home, Office, Theater Surround Sound, 4 Inch Woofer, 1 Inch Silk Dome Tweeter w/Waveguide, Rear Ported, Light Brown and Black https://a.co/d/arOTWJY
$229 ELAC Debut 2.0 B5.2 Bookshelf Speakers, Black (Pair) - 1" Cloth Dome Tweeter & 5.25" Aramid Fiber Woofer - 2-Way Bass Reflex - Up to 35,000 Hz Response https://a.co/d/6LsCB1w
$279 Emotiva Airmotiv B1+ Pair Bookshelf Loudspeakers
$249 ELAC Uni-Fi UB5 3-Way Bookshelf Speakers by Andrew Jones - Pair - Black https://a.co/d/6jRvQ0I
$279 ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 Bookshelf Speakers, Black (Pair) - 1" Cloth Dome Tweeter & 6.5" Aramid Fiber Woofer - 2-Way Bass Reflex - Up to 35,000 Hz Response https://a.co/d/2N9Mn31
Look at the monolith speakers at monoprice. They typically both measure and sound good They have a pair of small $99/each T4 towers that look promising.
There are also some recommend models from parts express as well.
Just don't be in a hurry. Deals pop up here a lot.
I would suggest finding some inexpensive used speakers locally(ie OfferUp,CL,FB).
Indoor speakers will not last long in an Az summer and unlikely would be doing any critical listening in that heat also.
If you want permanent speakers in there, you might want to consider outdoor speakers.
Another is a portable speaker, they can do well for that purpose.

He has never heard any of the speakers he thread craps and trolls. He bases his knowledge on a few youtube videos that only talk about frequency response. For every negative video you find on these, you will find 10 positive reviews.
Then the guy talks about Andrew Robinson, one of the best speaker reviewers on youtube, and Andrew absolutely loves the Jamo s809 towers. For some reason, Lovelysparrow goes out of his way to find a negative review and ignores Andrew just for Jamo speakers.
And to top it off, he brags about a Vizio sound bar? You would think the guy would get a clue with all the downvotes he gets.... This guy knows nothing. He was also thread crapping on the Klipsch 502s speakers and giving misinformation; calling them dipole.
With that said, I would go with this set if you have the coin:
https://slickdeals.net/f/17169853-jamo-speakers-2x-s-809-floor-s-83-center-2x-s-803-onkyo-tx-nr6050-receiver-599-more-free-shipping?src=Si
You will need to add a sub, speaker wire, and maybe banana plugs.
I have the exact set, and they sound great for 4k disc and streaming. As some have mentioned, the weak spot is the center. I do not have issues with it watching 4k, just watching certain channels on youtube tv.
