For decades the standard size of a tuna can was 7 ounces. Over the past 15 years or so. the manufacturers have deceptively incrementally downsized it, first to 6.5 oz, then 6 oz, then down to 5.5 oz about 8-10 years ago, and now it's at 5 oz.
That's nearly a 30% reduction in the tuna by can, at present.
Pretty soon you're going to need tweezers to find the tuna in a can.

You'd think as a side (sole) benefit this would result in thinner people, but it doesn't.
Sardines are low in mercury, while tuna is medium to high in mercury depending on the type and where it was caught. Sardines contain 0.009–0.028 parts per million (ppm) of mercury, while albacore tuna contains 10–20 times more mercury
Species Mercury in ppm Mercury (in mcg) per 3 ounces (85 grams)
Light tuna (canned) 0.126 10.71
Skipjack tuna (fresh or frozen) 0.144 12.24
Albacore tuna (canned) 0.350 29.75
Yellowfin tuna (fresh or frozen) 0.354 30.09

Bigeye tuna (fresh or frozen) 0.689 58.57
Lol, if eating tuna was their problem.. which it isn't. It's all the low quality crap America is allowed to label as food.
I generally pick up the Chunk Light Tuna, not sure what the Albacore is, but it was always more expensive so I passed when I bought my tuna in the store.
So many tinned fish sales posted of late!
