Is this the typical dark Charbucks stuff? Or is it a milder perhaps medium or light roast?

I love coffee but I am no expert so TIFWIW. This has been my go to for years now. Similar to the Starbucks house blend with a medium to dark roast. At $4.40/lb it is hitting way above its price class. Has a wonderful aroma when you open the bag.

Medium to dark, what SBucks would call medium. My wife (who does not like the SB dark roast burnt taste) is happy to drink it.

Oily? Good for my super automatic? I Feel Like Anything Starbucks is going to break my machine. I usually default to Lavazza

Nice tasty, frothy coffee bean oils on top of first 1 or 2 cups from my french press.

I generally don't mind the oils but it messes up the bean grinder built into the Super automatic. Dry beans are the path to ensuring continuous coffee

A complicating thought: Assuming you were to like the Kirkland coffee; assuming you had to clean the grinder every 4 lbs; assuming you're paying $12/lb for what you drink now.

Is it worth saving $30 every time you clean your grinder? or would you just be angry every morning at your coffee and $30 is not enough to be angry every morning?

Actually Lavazza usually goes on sale for $16 for 2lbs, so the price is not too bad. But the problem is not just the cleaning, as soon as I start using the oily beans I can hear it in the grinder making a high pitched whine. I am not sure why...I guess I could do some research.

The beans are oily, i have not tried to run them in built in grinder on the breville express, usually wait for the lavazza sale and get those.

It is. I've bought this and the Member's Mark Colombian Supremo from Sam's Club. The Costco coffee is burnt to a crisp. Sam's Club is more in the medium-dark range and is much smoother IMO.

I wouldn't risk damaging the machine. My manual explicitly says to never use oily beans.
