I see it differently, it really seems like One Plus is offering all the features of the 1200 phones for 799. Like, nothing is lacking anymore (maybe some camera but that seems a bit subjective). So I'm wondering how Samsung etc can stand. Even have wireless charging. Maybe that's why the reviewers seem very positive on One Plus this time around. Reviewers went through a hate phase with One Plus, and I dont think it had any ryhme or reason TBH. I dont think OP was offering worse value when reviewers hated them the past couple years than when they like them with the 11/12. Actually now that I think of it, most reviewers seem to subconsciously review only on if a phone has wireless charging and nothing else, so thats probably it.
Actually now that I think of it I know exactly how Samsung will stand, by using anti competitive practices and being in bed with the monopolistic American carriers to the tunes of a few billion $ kickbacks. Grandma sue will stick with Samsung when the 3 carriers give it to her "free" anyway, along with some level of blacklisting all the competition except maybe pixel and iphone off their networks. It was an eye opener to learn that google is the default search engine on iphone because they literally pay apple 36 billion dollars a year...
One Plus trade in game has stepped up10X too. They used to not even do the instant TIV, which is a total must. Now they do instant TIV, plus their values offered are pretty decent that I could tell at least on their own phones. So they've closed a lot of the gap there with Samsung too. I used to be considering going back to Samsung just for the trade in ecosystem, but it's not necessary at all anymore.
Still my main negative is the curved screen, but again I suppose I can live with it. It just sucks that I know if I jump in on the 12, they'll go flat next yr. But it's not that big a deal.

YMMV for sure. But personally the problem with most wireless chargers is they stand your phone up, and if the screen comes on for a call or something its going to light the room up. Which I dont want because I set it on my dresser and put on silent so it wont disturb me (I'm a very poor sleeper). You can turn the charger around to face away, but that just seems weird. Plus, these super fast wiring chargers make it less and less relevant IMO, as the whole paradigm of overnight charging kinda ceases to exist in many cases (although I guess for battery health, it might still be a good idea). When I charge on a wire, I turn the phone screen side down.
All that said it's still a great feature. Just not worth 200 extra from the 12r to the 12 for me.
Good question, I should hold off on buying until knowing this xD. Let me know if you find out!
I'm returning the OnePlus Open because there is some software jank with copy and paste in any browser, the recent apps screen is a bit messy, the volume control API isn't the standard one that works with edge gesture apps, and the camera takes a long time to adjust exposure.
If you don't care about the camera and just want something that launches things as fast as possible and charges faster, definitely get the OnePlus. The Pixel series with copy and paste from any visible text on the app switcher is great for me at work, as I'm often copying things in parts of apps that you can't just press and hold to highlight.
It's the difference between one press and hold and having to switch back and forth between apps to manually copy things and hope there isn't a typo.
pixel is pic first, mid range chip and sensor thats 1-3 gen old. 2023 tensor performs similar 2019 A13. best $100-300 experience with 128gb-256gb, not worth $600-1200 128gb.

pixel pro is fine xp for $300-500 for general use and 5x pocket photographers. 16hr web, 20he video is very usuable. 6a is the best $100-300 camera phone, makes iphone SE look ancient.
