Verizon for Warp 5G, T-Mobile for GSM, AT&T is coming later this year. You choose which carrier you want.

This is all new to me as I've only used the major providers. I need to switch due to inflation and my rent going up $300/mo.

Can someone help me with some math?

I'm also starting my own small business and I'd like to have a separate cell phone for that for tax purposes. Therefore, what I'd *like* to know is this:
If I only care about the bottom line cost (which might or might not include the gift card promos if I share one account), and I need
1) a NEW line, and
2) a ported line, both with 5GB per month or less, is it better to share one account or have two accounts with the 180/year rate? And is the latter even allowed?

Just my personal opinion on Mint Mobile, but.... I switched over to Mint Mobile from Metro PCS's economy plan solely because Mint Mobile allowed international roaming with their relatively affordable UpRoam option for my trips to Canada, even thought it always meant putting up with their unreliable connectivity issues. A few weeks ago, just before a family trip to Canada, Mint started forcing (even existing) subscribers to buy a Minternational Pass at $40 PER WEEK ($53 after taxes and fees) for the 7 of us to use our phones internationally and use the existing phone numbers. So we paid over $370 to be able to use our phones in Canada for 1 week. I was okay with dealing with Mint's poor customer service and spotty coverage for the ability to use my phone internationally, but after this ripoff move I'll NEVER recommend Mint again.
Mint was good when it was Mint.. All the tricks that we are seeing now is from T-Mobile.. Sad to see another good player got swallowed by sharks ..

You can have both lines on the same account. In your situation, the $180 deal makes the most sense. Trying to use a pooled data plan would cost you a little more. A two line 12 GB pooled data plan would cost you $33 / month. That's $36 more a year for less data! vs the $180 plan which breaks down to $15 / month for 10 GB on each line.

I've read on their web site and some of the explanations here about Canada, here is what I need to know my Dad goes to Canada fishing about 4 months every year. He would still use a flip phone if I could find one, but he has an Iphone 13. We currently have Verizon proper, and are paying over $180 per month for 3 lines.

With US Cellular can he make calls back to the US on his phone?

Further, US Mobile offers either Tmobile or Verizon networks depending on coverage in your area. Its Verizon network has worked well, seems to be a reputable company as implied throughout this thread, and ironically showed up as one of the recommended MVNOs by Kiplingers Finance Magazine after i switched over. Good luck.

My understanding is that if he's on the Verizon network (seems likely) then you need to establish an eSIM for international roaming. But yes, possible on a premium plan.

It's pretty good on Verizon. They were good when I had them but data was kinda slow.

I recently travelled to EU and India in for 3 weeks. I was on Warp 5g ( VZW). I had to pay a deposit of $500 refunded after usage, data was very pricey ($12for 1 GB) . I used it sparingly for texts and calls and not for data roaming . US mobile was great and refunded my entire deposit saying my usage was low. Got 4G in India and 5G in EU ( Germany). No eSIM and it was on my regular sim they told me I was on a pilot or early adopter.

I have a TMo and recently noticed that the call is not going through and works well on WhatsApp calls. Even when I am on wifi the regular call does not go through or sometimes and text message I send out does not get delivered. Is it worth switching to US mobile? if US mobile is using Tmobile network then not sure the result will be same or will get better performance. I have One Plus 8 5G device which I am currently using. please suggest or anyone has experienced similar situation. Thanks
