Verizon for Warp 5G, T-Mobile for GSM, AT&T is coming later this year. You choose which carrier you want.

Does US Mobile have an Apple Watch cellular plan yet? I knew they were talking about it but I didn't see it last time I looked. When that's available, I'll definitely look into moving over from Visible+
Not yet. The CEO did an AMA and said later this year.

My plan got updated from 5gb/mo to this 10gb annual. Now it tells me I have 2097152GB left….. what does that even mean?

FYI: On live chat I was told that, on the 10GB plan, it's a hard cap and no data available whatsoever afterwards (which would be an issue for me). Reddit users were saying 1mbps would still be available. CSR said that only applies to the 35GB plan.

Also, top up data is a bit pricey at $10 for a 2GB add on if one uses all data in a given month on 10GB plan.

Finally, I have an unlocked iPhone that has both GSM/CDMA capability, so I would opt for Verizon coverage (I've had horrible dead spots even in cities w/TMobile in the past - YMMV), but only iPhones 12 or newer can take advantage of Warp 5G according to the CSR. This was going to be a second line on an iPhone XR. The rep checked my address and claimed I would barely notice a difference between 5G and 4G b/c I have good coverage where I live.

Just putting some additional feedback in the thread for those it may benefit. Thank you, OP.

The only phones that will work on Verizon Warp speeds are those (branded Verizon) bought directly from Verizon. They typically have to be a high end Samsung S22 ultra or newer. There may be some newer Google Pixel models and Iphone 13 models that work with high speed 5G on Verizon.

Verizon will show 5G but the speeds will be LTE. Typically 40-120mbps on any other carrier branded phone or older 5G phones.

I cannot say if any Verizon branded phones will work Warp speed on any MVNO carrier.

You can get good 5G speeds on the Tmobile network on any MVNO. The modems inside the phone are what dictate speed. Newer is better. For the value customer the Moto 5G Stylus 2021 will max out at 300-400mbps on tmobile and a Moto 5G stylus 2022 will max out at 550-750mbps on tmobile. On Verizon a 5G signal will show and LTE speeds of 40-120mbps. A OnePlus 8 Tmobile branded phone can do 550mbps.

I would advise going with the Tmobile network if speed is important to you.

Uggg. So for me, based on what you're saying, it's either good coverage with Verizon but with slower data speed, or Tmobile coverage which has been ridiculously atrocious for me in the past.

I appreciate your feedback.

I am basing it on my personal experience on Verizon post paid. I have a OnePlus 8 that is Tmobile branded. Verizon had their own OnePlus 8 branded phone with the 5G mmwave bands. So I got the 40-120mbps LTE speeds with a 5G signal.

Iphones are a different animal. Apple controls all the bands of the iphone in house. So an Iphone 13 or newer may take advantage of the 5G Warp speeds. I know the Iphone 12 is 5G but it's old and the newer Verizon bands would not be on the 12.

It's just something people should keep in mind. I cannot say if an AT&T or T-Mobile branded Samsung S23 or newer would have the same problem with Verizon 5G. If someone has a Verizon branded S23, they would have the full speed of Verizon 5G and that should carry over to the MVNO carriers.

My suspicion is that any non Verizon branded Android phone will not have all of the Verizon 5G bands for 500mbps+ speeds. A newer Iphone should have all the necessary bands for fast 5G speeds because Apple controls everything on their handset. The US version of the Iphone is an all carrier phone will all the bands of that current Iphone generation. It's why you never see a Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile splash screen when your iphone boots. Apple does not allow that.

I have not tested recent Iphone's to prove this is true. It's possible the iphone would have to be a Verizon branded phone as well to receive Verizon Warp speed. If anybody with a T-mobile or AT&T iphone 14 or 15 were to pop in a Verizon sim. Any speeds greater than 200mbps would indicate Verizon Warp speed.

So, in short, if I use my brand new unlocked Galaxy s24, am I better off with Verizon or Tmobil?

Good question. I know a S24 at minimum on T-mobile off peak should get 750mbps+ at minimum. I have never had a phone on the Verizon network with the correct radios to get Warp 5G 500mbps+. So it will be trial and error for people.

The safe play is T-Mobile for fast speed. If your unlocked S24 is Verizon branded, you should be good with speed. If it's an unlocked S24, who knows. I know that is not the best answer. It would be a shame if Verizon 5G Warp speeds only work on phones purchased directly through Verizon.

If someone has an iphone 14 or newer. That would be interesting to see what speed they get on USmobile with a Verizon sim.

The bottom line is the newest phones on any network will get the fastest downloads because the modem inside the phone and newest radios/bands. To get over 1gbps on Verizon, you need the mmWave bands in the phone. Then you need to be in a city center or place where they have mmWave towers.

The same happened to me, just give it a couple of days and the system will show the correct information.

Is there really no Visual Voicemail for Android phones on the Verizon network? I have a non 5G phone. Do I really need to dial voicemail and navigate messages pressing 7 and 9? Even Red Pocket has VVM on Verizon.

No, international calls and texts only , that too when you are in US, if out of US , nothing works.

Annoying that's cut off vs slow down but many people don't get to even 5gb

For an option without a year long contract like US mobile or Mint, I have been using Tello for years and it has been working great. It's similar to the pay as you go EU system. You can top off but it's just better to start your next month earlier by purchasing another month. And If you renew before the current month contract expires you will rollover. I buy a big data plan one month and roll it with a smaller data plan until I need more.
There are benefits for international calling too. There's some referral discounts too
