Between this and the Verizon Internet deal before Christmas, I am finally free from Spectrum and their constant price hikes. After ditching Spectrum internet for Verizon, I still had the cheap Spectrum phone plan for unlimited talk/text and 1 gb of data for $14.99 a month. Then they hiked it up to $19.99 a month. I saw the US Mobile Light plan and was like hallelujah. Same deal for $6 a month/$72 for the year. I had a small glitch when activating and the customer support chat with US Mobile was excellent in fixing it.

This, red rocket, or mint mobile? They seem to all be around the same $180 price point

Really depends on if you need the data. I'm probably going with the Annual light plan of 1gb/ month for $6 flat.

Tello (known cheapest provider) doesn't have hard cap data but it is pricier and taxes not included. As for Mint Mobile, if you can get the promo pricing of free months. It's probably better deal overall.

Red pocket would have random issues with texts not coming through and having to contact chat every couple months to reset... Something. No issues with US mobile yet.

I just renewed my wife's $99 annual RP plan on the ATT network. I ordered a code from eBay -- $99 plus tax. When I went to enter the activation code on the RP site I saw that I could renew for $95 with auto-renewal. I canceled my order from eBay. When I started the RP renewal process the price went up to $108 after tax and all the surcharges. So I got out of that, used my eBay code, and notified the seller that I did not want to cancel. I think it's going to be US Mobile the next time if they still have a well priced plan.

I'm switching from mint to USM too, soon as my 6 months are up. Mint screwed me out of a referral and their Customer service was awful.

Well that's a massive issue.

Can anyone weigh in on this?

Anyone know if we need to activate the annual plan with certain number of days after purchase?
Would love to but the plan if it allows activation later in the year.
