Weak as in compared to what?
Compared to a supercomputer. I bought this model with the Ryzen 5, and it's been great. When I was comparing it to other i5 laptops, I found that it was similar. Fanboys gonna fanboy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ryzen 5 7520U is an oddball that uses a 6nm Zen 2 core with RDNA graphics (but only 2 CU/128 shaders). How weird!

Not sure why this keeps hitting FP. There have been better deals recently for similar price point. Do a search for the Dell Inspiron 15 3525 (Ryzen 5500u) and 3520 (i3-1215u), both have been cheaper and are brand new. The refurbished Ideapad 3 with touchscreen and i5-1235u was available from Lenovo outlet on eBay for $277 recently, and Ideapad 5 (metal chassis) with i5-1235u was $269, all with Lenovo 1 year warranty.

Didn't the Ideapad 5 only have 8gb of Soldered ram?

Well….I don't see any of the deals you're stating so that's probably why this is FP.

Those only have 8GB of RAM, FYI, and at least for some of them, cannot be upgraded.

All of the ones I linked can have RAM upgraded. Maybe you should do some research first.

Is it that bad?
I bought this laptop on black Friday deal on Ebay for 236 dollars with a black Friday promo, and believe this is a great deal. The laptop was in new condition no backlit keyboard but it has touchscreen. Don't believe the naysayers there are plenty in SD the laptop performs great for 80% of users, my kids play fortnite roblox and several games and I haven't heard them complain. I have opened 10 pages on the browser and didn't notice any lag. The screen is bright. I bought a Lenovo laptop with 12th generation it with 8GB of ram and it was garbage compared to this one. If you want something inexpensive for you tube browsing don't waste your money on something twice as expensive. It also comes with 2 year warranty. Also if you don't like it you can always send it back free shipping.

Considering at least one of the models doesn't even exist in the Lenovo database, and doesn't list any SODIMM slots, I'm not sure how you're able to make that determination. Since it lists the RAM as soldered, I'm going to assume no expansion slot unless it says otherwise.

I'm not gonna waste my time upgrading a 1215 with more RAM, though.

For everyday use? No it's fine.

My wife is still using her ryzen 5 3500u laptop (with 16gb ram) which is maybe 20% slower. It performs fine in everyday tasks.
I agree but the "experts " at SD won't

Im a noob, can you please suggest better for $100 more? Using as a desktop replacement. I appreciate the help.

Example: Is this vivobook worth the extra over this one? Im using tinkercad and other basic internet stuff.

Yes that Vivobook would be significantly faster. The i7-1255U is around +50% faster in both single thread (which is what CAD bottlenecks on) and multi-thread. It is well worth the price increase especially since its new, while the OP is refurb.

I bought it as a work from home system. Doesn't need to be fast to be able to run Citrix. Wish the monitor was higher resolution but I'll probably buy a portable 2nd monitor.
