Few things to note about these:

They don't require the laptop have DP alt mode on the USB-C connector, which can be a plus, but this means the displays are using DisplayLink which is an abstraction layer built up on USB, and uses the CPU and GPU to render these displays in software. Which if your system is decently powerful and has a dedicated GPU, isn't really a huge issue, but if it has only CPU integrated graphics, DisplayLink performance can be quire terrible under certain conditions, like doing anything that's tasking the GPU with even something as "simple" as YouTube playback, and gaming is out of the question.

They're generally fine for most office uses, but gaming is not going to be a fun experience and if you have no dedicated GPU, even watching videos can lead to the display becoming a stuttering mess.

DisplayLink is useful, but it's not a replacement for a true display connection, like docks that connect over DisplayPort alt mode. But if your laptop doesn't have DP Alt Mode, this is the only way you're going to get a docking station, so it does have some uses.

If you have WalMart GC to burn, they have it also for $20, the seller being HP

Just a heads up, this is a displaylink dock.

Probably fine for most users and office use. Just be aware it will require additional drivers to output video to an external monitor, and you will not be able to drive dedicated GPU graphics to an external monitor with this dock if that is something you need.

Mine arrived yesterday. Saturday delivery alone probably cost more than the $20 for this dock. I might just leave it in the box. I'd feel pretty bad if I accidentally broke a $275 laptop dock.

Wanted to provide an update. I placed two separate orders from walmart after cancelling hp order. I received an email from hp through walmart that they were shipping one of the two orders. The next day walmart cancelled both my orders. Today, to my surprise, I just received one of the cancelled orders that HP sent the delivery update before cancellation. Now, I have no charges to my credit card and I received two docks for free. What a comdey of errors!

Planning to return two of my docks but open to selling them for the same price plus you pay shipping if anyone is interested (see my previous post for reason why I don't like it). DM me. Would prefer to sell locally in Houston, TX so no shipping needed if anyone lives here.

For some reason the supplied USB-C cable would only charge my Android based Pixel phone. I even tried c->a>c as per https://support.displaylink.com/k...th-display . I ended up using a known working usb-c cable and it worked and charges as well. Oddly, I get prompted twice about sharing the video before it actually does so.

I just did an initial test and haven't used it for a while to give any impressions.
As well, I needed to replace my HDMI to dvi cable to a dvi to dvi to get rid of artifacts.

I have an Asus Creator Q540 - i9 + RTX 3060 video card. It requires a 120W power supply, where the dock only outputs 100W max. The laptop complains that it has lower power input to it.

First question: Is there any issue with having the powered dock plugged in at the same time as the laptop native power supply? Is there a way to shut off the PD on the dock?

Second question: Anyone try the headphone out port? I am having trouble getting it outputting sound / being recognized by the laptop. Thoughts?

Didnt try myself, share your experience if you try it.

2. I would try reinstalling the audio driver
