No way, I paid less than $800 for my S22 Ultra, I wouldn't pay $800 for S24 Ultra, it will be that price very soon. The original price of $1200+ is too high for S24U

That's a very good trade-in value from Samsung for a 6-year old phone (that they might be able to resell in bulk for $40)! Guess they really want to keep Note 8 users in the Sam fam.

I am looking to buy S24 Ultra and have S22 5G for trade in. Currently with education offer I am getting $775 at checkout (+$100 samsung credit). Is it the lowest?

I am on ATT, if that makes any difference.

I just got my S24+ but I'm waiting for my Trade-In to be approved so I can open it. I had a bad experience with the last trade-in I did, was told the device didn't turn on (but it did when I sent it). I asked them to ship it back to me and when I got it, it was a different watch model than the one I sent, and in a super bad condition. Not to mention the trade-in took almost 3 months to go through.

Other than that, the other trade-ins I have done with them went smooth.

Got $500 for my wife's old pink S20 with Tmobil, and finally, they gave us the storage upgrade. Its cracked on the back, and I called, and they are accepting them that way. I, on the other hand, got the S24 with Samsung and got the storage upgrade and $65 for 2 years off full coverage insurance with Samsung Care+ and an additional $98 educator discount. I had the S22 Ultra, and they gave me $650 plus the $150 Samsung credit + education discounts.

Jumped on this - I just so happen to find my old Note 8 in a drawer yesterday. Got $400 for it. Had a .edu account as well. Got an S24+ (512GB) + Galaxy Buds FE = $572 shipped.

Very likely the case.

I was waiting to get my new credit card in with 15 months 0% APR that I just applied for, as I didn't want to take a hit with another hard inquiry by doing Samsung financing. Looks like I missed this boat. :.(

Trade in values still stay as they were, you just loose the free memory upgrade bit for some it should still be ok although not that great of a deal.

Generally speaking, unlocked phones sell for more as they don't come with the added bloatware you get with mobile carrier phones (and often have different specs, depending). I think price are about average compared to pre-covid, perhaps about 100 dollars higher. But you're also talking about incredible leaps in technology. I went from a Note9 (700 in 2018 new, unlocked, no contract) to a S23U this year (775, new, unlocked, no contract). So take my anecdote with a grain of salt.

Like you, I can't imagine upgrading for another 5-6 years unless my S23U dies for some reason and can't be repaired. The only thing I feel slightly FOMO about is the Advanced Intelligence (not AI) features. Eventually, AI will be integrated, but I don't know, or at least, haven't heard, if the S23U will get them.

You probably need to enter in your carriers APN settings, specifically under "Mobile Hotspot," if you have T-Mobile you want to enter "fast.t-mobile.com"
If you're not getting picture messages or can't send them then under "MMS settings" you'd want to complete that accordingly. You'll have to Google that info though I don't memorize that section.

Who has Verizon here? I might switch from tmobile because I have the cheapest plan (5 lines for $130, called Essentials Savings) but for obvious reasons they never include that plan for enhanced TIVs. I was looking at Verizon and I saw there is a plan called "Unlimited Welcome" for $25 per line after autopay, and while I won't get the full enhanced TIV they're much better than Tmobiles. Does anyone have this low tier plan?
