I guess in older homes? I can't remember seeing a house built in the last 10 years having a dryer outlet in the garage. They were popular 25 years ago.
But in a few years, 240v outlets will probably or should be standard in new homes for the purpose of EV charging.

Doesn't appear to be UL listed but Splitvolts a good brand and one of the only EVSE manufactures to make a charger for 10-30 plug but not UL Listed..... Lectron makes a similar device that they call a socket splitter https://ev-lectron.com/collection...t-splitter

These work great and are a good option if you have a full panel. I used one for 6 months until I could upgrade my panel. I actually have one for sale along with a 24amp splitvolt charger and 25 foot 10 ga extension cord. All items are NEMA 14-30 plugs and receptacles.
