Damn good deal for an 83". It shares the name with the S90C, but it's using an LG WOLED panel.

How so C3 better?
Coming from previous LG Oleds I liked the picture quality from C3 better out of the box and OS is better. This Samsung Oled is also very good. It took few tweaks in settings to my Liking. And C3 was double the price of this Samsung so this is way better value.

Is there a way for the tv to automatically change modes at night or do you have to do it manually every time?
It is manual. There is intelligent mode keeping it ON changes the picture quality automatically as per content

This or the 85" X90L? I love the inky blacks (I still have a Panasonic VT35) but since this is our main TV, its used with streaming, even some OTA and limited 4k source media. I also keep my TVs for a long time. I'm assuming the X90L is the safer play for me, right?

Shocking that nobody wants this.

Not. You can get a 100" for $3000 or less. These will be under $2000 by April.

Great to know. Any thoughts / feedback on your 77 ?
My 77'' looks fantastic, the colors really pop. Panel uniformity and gray scale looks great visually.

Connected to internet to update the firmware and then disconnected to get rid of all the Ads/pop ups. I won't be using any of the internal Apps, we use an AppleTV and game consoles for input. I will be using the Samsung UX only for settings and switching inputs.

It is too bright at night, I had to turn brightness down.
I can't find anything wrong with it.

Yes, I am already thinking about replacing my projector screen (135'') with a 100''.
I have a dedicated room which is light controlled, so immersion wins for now especially since I have already set it up. But these TVs are amazing value,

The immersion is real, but you are missing on HDR goodness at the same time. So this is a really hard choice. With my 77'' I feel like a 100'' with better image would be a reasonable compromise. But a 110'' is probably going to make it an easy choice. So I am waiting for 110'' pricing next year.

I've had a BenQ W1070 with a 120" screen since 2013. Even a $2K projector is a tough sell vs. the 100" tv's.

Just got mine in, looks like it came with a defective panel, huge block of lines down the right side of the screen. If you are putting it right into storage like I was planning on make sure you check the panel before you do
