Damn good deal for an 83". It shares the name with the S90C, but it's using an LG WOLED panel.

.gov or edu won't work for this deal. You need to have access to EPP to get the pricing op has mentioned. I can create an epp account for you. Trading $5 amazon. Dm if interested.

I tried adding the 4 year warranty instead of the complimentary 2 year warranty after my order was placed and offered to pay the difference but customer service said that was literally impossible to do without returning the tv…silly

In order to get the discount program I have to enter my social security number to ID me website. Did you guys do this?
No. Definitely a scam.
For EPP they verify your work email.

I doubt it's a scam that's being described. It sounds like you selected the wrong discount program (or tried to select in the past with your account) like EDU, which will lead you to id.me website for verification which may ask you for things like ss#.

Pulled the trigger today for 83" TV. Thanks to the forum I was able to get 10% off and 2 year Samsung care. Final price after tax was $2337. I am happy it'll be here before Super Bowl. This is the second flat panel TV I will own and I am upgrading from 11 year old LG. I work on display and graphics processing technology so while my work monitors kept going up in spec my TV stayed behind in tech.

I see a lot of chatter about QD-OLED vs WOLED technology. I am going to be honest, they are both superb display technologies. You will only notice difference when you keep them side by side or test them under lab setting. If this is the only TV you going to be keeping in your room then go with the bigger screen.

What's your dilemma?
Not getting qd-oled? I really think it's a little overblown. If you have never owned a qd-oled, you will never miss it. Any oled will blow anything else out of the water.
Is it the money difference? A TV is something you will rarely replace because of the size. Buy the largest best TV you can afford. I think most people who can afford 1800 can afford 2300 or even 2500 but I can't speak for you.
Tldr. Get the 83.
Have both: QD oled destorys WOLED and it's not close. However 83 is much bigger than 77 so it's all about viewing distance

What about QN90C 85" QLED vs 83" S90C OLED? I'm in a pickle deciding between those. I need to get two tvs for the house. I've already decided on a 77" S90C for the bonus where the dedicated movie watching and gaming will happen. The 80"incher will be in the living room where it's a huge open floor plan and watching will be general purpose from all sorts of different viewing angles and seating heights.

I think I might be content with the slightly larger screen with the QLED and knowing I do have an OLED in a different room for when it matters… wife certainly won't know the difference between the panels but I'll know in the back of my mind!

I think the 90c is worse than the 90b (ads pro vs VA) can't remember specifically. But in your case if bright room with lots of angles ya you may as well go bigger and miniled. I would personally go Sony X90/95L in that scenario because for sports Sony just can't be beat on processing. Big dif for me too competing. If no sports you my as well go Hisense u8k

Destroy is an exaggeration. It all depends on what you value most in your pq and your room situation (light controlled vs ambient lighting). I have read plenty of people who have been disappointed in qd-oled vs w-oled.
I am not saying qd-oled isn't considered in general better, but I would not say, don't get any non-qd-oled tv regardless of how much bigger it is.

Personally, if I was in the market for a TV now (and can't wait), i would take the 83" woled over 77 qd-oled. You will never regret getting the larger size.

I went with the same option, currently sitting in the box against my wall & I can't wait to plug this thing in and see what it can do. It's **massive** in the box and heavy. I almost feel like it's too big but that'll fade once it's up on the wall.

I just received my 83" tv and I'm loving it so far, you just have to play with the settings a bit to get used to it. The colors are awesome! I was on the fence about since there were no reviews and people comparing it with the different technology from different sizes! At this price range the watch the tv is totally worth it! I'm so glad I pulled the trigger, I have Q990c soundbar and sounds amazing with this tv! 0 regrets. Just get it!!
Did your TV come with the film on the screen to peel off?
