I like Chase (Sapphire Preferred, CSP) for travel because I actually ran into a surprising number of places that didn't accept Amex abroad. I had $5k damage done to a rental car and they simply cut me a check for it. Amex has this feature as well (my vanilla platinum, at least) so this probably isn't a great distinction, but I was quite pleased with my Chase experience regarding that. I actually used the CSP because the rental place didn't take Amex (this was in FL!)
Amex definitely has them beat in regards to "perks". The Amex offers can be very nice. My platinum got me into the centurion lounge at LHR and it was so damn fancy. If this card gets you into the SkyClubs, those are not as nice but still better than a lot of lounges out there and worth it imo.
I was not eligible for the bonus, btw. I have really good credit, but according to them, this is more about my inhouse history with amex and/or balance transfers? dunno.
I've had Amex delta years ago and need a new card for spend right now.
Btw I actually got direct email for this offer. Does that mean I qualify for the sub?
As well, there are data points which show that a "lifetime" is approximately 7 years, so you can get bonuses again at some point, as long as you've maintained a decent relationship with Amex.
Fortunately Amex shows a pop-up (aka pop-up jail) when you go to submit an application, which will warn you if you do not qualify for the SUB.
With the 15% discount on award redemptions you get by having this card, and SkyMiles generally valued at 1.2cpp, the value of this offer is ~$966 in flights. If you are patient and wait for a special redemption (i.e. you keep an eye on places where deals are posted like the awardtravel subreddit), you could get a decent amount higher value.

You might call the application line for Amex if you want to be certain.
