Considering the Western digital SN850X was on sale around Christmas time for $119 for two terabyte, I think this is a hard pass on two terabyte Samsung.

The media said prices were going to increase, does not mean we have to pay them

Why is Amazon touting PCiE 5.0 when it clearly shows PCiE 4.0 on the drive itself? False advertising, anyone?

Because Samsung sayz: "Supporting both PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 interfaces, the 990 EVO fits the needs for today's PCs supporting PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots while it also offers compatibility along with thermal control and power savings for PCIe 5.0 interfaces in upcoming applications."

Terrible price. There are significantly better drives at this price. Crucial T500 is the way to go for performance/price.

+1 on just because they are increasing on the price doesn't mean we have to pay it.

But if we don't pay it, prices will come down. Because supply and demand levels out.

I personally would not spend that amount of money on a two terabyte SSD. If I can wait, and I can, I'll wait. Others should do the same. Cuz that is just sucker money Smilie

At one point it was $120 for a 980 pro or 990 pro. Prices have gone up. If you need a ssd right now the Samsung drives are awesome. I still rocking my 1tb 980 pro and it's fast. I want a 4tb, but it went from $250 to $300 the last time I looked.
