The ANC on the 2nd gen is absolutely phenomenal, on the fakes it's total trash
The buds are what matter the most when it comes to noise cancellation and software so that's how many people determine theirs are fake cause their transparency and ANC supposedly doesn't work cause they don't have a reference to know if it does unless you have someone else to test
Many people are aversive to returning; case point is anyone you know that has any clothing that they purchased and don't wear
Furthermore you don't know the use case on these so the batteries aren't even replaceable not even by apple; if they get RMA then they just give new ones from factory; so your battery life will either be trash or decent but that's hard to determine cause apple has minimal diagnostics to their Bluetooth devices; you will need to do your own stress tests to see if they are 4.5 hr per charge and 18hr case battery
I would like to buy refurbished or used from anything to save a few bucks but this isn't cheap enough to justify a refurbished
I need refurb to be like 40-60% of not 10-20% even if apple; also these are lowering to $189 new from costco before if that gives you a new price anchor
