Games have an ESRB rating for a reason. You can go to the website and lookup the games and find out exactly why they have the rating they do to make an informed decision as to whether your kid should be playing it. Each game has a synopsis with specific examples of why it received the rating it did.

For instance, RDR2 is rated M (17+) because of: "Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Use of Drugs and Alcohol" as well as online interaction potential and in-game purchase capability.

https://www.esrb.org/ratings/3588...emption-2/ [esrb.org]

If I recall, Borderlands enemies do a whole lot of cussing. I THINK you can filter the mature language in the settings but otherwise you're going to hear the F word for sure as well as both sexual and suicide references.

https://www.esrb.org/ratings/3233...erlands-2/ [esrb.org]

The Witcher is in a similar vein. Violence, gore, sex, language, and drugs/alcohol.

https://www.esrb.org/ratings/3443...d-edition/ [esrb.org]

While the rating is a guideline for parents/guardians and not a rule, I'd still be hesitant on those games at that age and that's coming from someone who has been gaming since I could hold a controller.
at least in my experience ESRB has been very inaccurate. they somehow gave Halo 4 a M rating when there is literally nothing there to be concerned about. Somehow LEGO game receive 10+ ratings. I just can't trust it anymore when games like Fortnite get 13+ and 16+ sometimes too. Even minecraft, the most kid friendly game on the planet received a 10+ or 12+ I think

I used to trust the ESRB rating but after playing some games myself I realized they are very inaccurate.

from what I can tell I think RDR2 is a but too much and same for Witcher 3. I think border lands is fine as you can turn it off anyway

I think they've had to become more strict in recent years due in part to societal pressures ("violent video games make people kill people") and many of the things they note are items that aren't hugely "visible" in the games—certain aspects of the ratings necessarily include facets that a player may not directly interact with, but are still present in the games. A lot of the language ratings are based on NPC dialogue that occurs in the background which a player may never actually hear but is in the game audio nonetheless. As for Halo 4, pretty much any shooter is getting an M rating because you're using a weapon to gun down organics and there is some degree of blood associated with that (thank the uproar over the red blood in the original Mortal Kombat for that default). The ratings can also differ between platforms.

Alternatively, you could look at the PEGI ratings as they use age-specific ratings, but there again, basically anything with life-like violence gets an 18+ rating even if it's relatively tame compared to dismemberment, beheading, curb-stomping, or tearing the bottom jaw of an enemy with a finishing move.

Really the issues is that an game with just guns maybe no other issues like blood or language receives 18+ and a game with a lot of bad stuff like gore language and more also receives and 18+ which means they are somehow the same. Really the need to remake the system as it's been the same for like 50 yrs

Thanks for sharing... But you guys know Eneba, right?
I'd rather not. If the price is good, I'd rather get it from Microsoft. Eneba is the grey market, easier to deal with MS.

at the end of the day its an unofficial unsupported way of doing things. and MS can remove your access at anytime if they find out the key was obtained unofficially.
Each country has different economic conditions so games are priced according to what people can pay in those countries, also if a product or service is new to a country it may be reduced price to get more people on board before they raise the prices. Some markets the products are completely free at first. Example is NFL Gamepass subscription was free some countries years ago.

hmm comments have multiple concerns of the game being removed from account someday, which I do think is possible but it might be worth the gamble. For me the worry is the possibility of an account ban. But I think ill give it a try, thanks for the help.Smilie

EDIT: I was about to buy a game but saw a lot of posts on reddit of Eneba taking money, and giving a key that does not work. their support apparently never responds. And apparently it's also not great for the developers making the game, as they dont get a lot of money from it. Devs have spoke about websites like Eneba and they have openly stated that they would rather have you pirate the game then get it from Eneba or G2A. If it works for you go ahead but to me it just seems like piracy but some random company who did no work gets money out of it.
