About this Game:
Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic.
Step into the dirt flecked shoes of former outlaw biker Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter trying to find a reason to live in a land surrounded by death. Scavenge through abandoned settlements for equipment to craft valuable items and weapons, or take your chances with other survivors trying to eke out a living through fair trade… or more violent means.
A striking setting: From forests and meadows, to snowy plains and desert lava fields, the Pacific Northwest is both beautiful and lethal. Explore a variety of mountains, caves, mines and small rural towns, scarred by millions of years of volcanic activity.
Amazing game that never got the attention it deserved. Shame the director turned out to be a prick
I've been playing video games for 40 years and consider Days Gone to be in the top ten of most fun games of all time. I beat it on PS4 but am thrilled to have a copy on PC. Thanks OP
Amazing game for sure. Especially on PC with elevated graphics over PS5 - made even better with mods both graphically and gameplay wise. I bought it around this time last year from a slick deals thread - I still play it to this day. Would gladly pay more had I known how much I'd enjoy it.
Very GPU bound game btw - I was able to play it for most of the year on a x58, 1st gen i7 (then later a cheap ebay xeon 5690) with a 6700xt at 1440p most settings on high or above. Avg 90fps in the forest, 60-70fps in the denser more complex towns. Of course it plays even better since my very recent CPU/mobo platform change but just the fact that it could even play on my old PC is amazing! Stable af too probably one of the best consoles to PC ports in recent history. Super alt-tab friendly. Probably the best behaved game I've seen regarding alt-tabbing out. Hundreds of hours, tons of mods, literally two crashes total. Anyway, if it weren't clear, I'm a fan. 😄

Any tips to make this easier/faster/more enjoyable to play? I just started on PS5 a few days ago and damn, it is really slow and I do want to give up. The gas tank/weapons selection/ other options on hard difficulty make it a real slow game but would love to stick with it. What are your tips if any?
You just have to stick with it. I had the same feeling when I played, but it will click for you and really get fun if you can push through the first act. If the pacing was a little better, this game would have been a lot more popular.
This is my only major complaint about this game. The motorcycle inexplicably only goes a couple miles on a full tank of gas to start with, despite motorcycles getting 40+ mpg in real life. Even with the upgrades you get, my "range anxiety" didn't stop until near the end of the game. It was so bad I even went looking for an infinite gas mod.

Don't give up. The story is great and it starts slow for a reason. You're supposed to struggle, things are not given to you all at once.
Solid game that ate up way more time then I would like to admit, plenty of good action and decent story. I bought it on epic games for a few bucks more during a sale. Good price for a great game.
Absolutely one of the best games ever made! This is the only game that got my heart racing while being chased by a zombie horde.
tips on getting gas.. plenty on tow trucks and always refill at the mechanic. you will have more credits than you will ever need. don't worry about money.
Best story in a video game ever imo. I've been gaming since Pong if that helps you realize how serious my claim is. The only reason i heard this game got bad reviews was because feminist screeched about some movie cuts about the women sexualizing themselves or something.
I don't even remember that part but we all know feminist will do anything to complain about something and ruin it.
Just get the game. It's a fun adventure and great story.

This seems to be a prevalent gripe of the game. It gets better with bike upgrades, but it always guzzles relative to anything in RL. If you want to role play, consider post apocalyptic, 2 year old gas would barely work anyway giving you absolutely terrible gas milage (if it could even run) so just use that as your explanation, lol. I mean it works, but the game doesn't say that's the reason or ever seem to address it in any capacity which was a miss in my book. I prefer when they at least try to integrate a gameplay choice into the story narrative. Really they just want to make reasons for frequent stops so their random open-world event generator can do its thing.
While the above works, I have another alternative theory is that it's one of the ways the developers are representing scale. Just like time is accelerated, a few hours of game time in RL is an entire day and night cycle in-game, what feels like a quarter mile in game is to represent something like 2 or 3 miles. The locations in-game are modeled off their real life counterparts and but it only takes minutes to travel between them which would normally take several hours.
This game is amazing and runs beautifully on PC. People say it starts too slow and you're underpowered and you run out of gas but you will look back at that part of the game with nostalgia. When you're cruising on your bike with everything upgraded and feeling bad ass you will miss that tension from early game when you dreaded running out of gas in the middle of the night with freaks everywhere. Great game! Great deal too!

How do you get mods on steam? I'm newer to PC.
P.S. I love/hate when i run out of gas and need to to run looking for gas while beating myself up for not seeing for gas when I have a chance.
You literally need to look at the map and plan your trips where you will hunt for gas on your trips. I thought that was fun to do that to the players.

What did the director do? I love this game and wished for a second but heard the feminazis chose to attack it or something
