Plus it includes road hazard for those 5 years as well. DT that is extra. Im not saying Costco beats DT on every tire they share but after fees usually Costco ends up slightly better.

Its not that and the fact that air also has moisture which supposedly isn't the case with the Nitrogen stations. So the lack of moisture and Nitrogen helps keep your PSIs balanced and helps with hot/cold days.
Check your tires about 3ish month or at the start/end of a season for best performance and also don't forget to do the same at least twice a year for your spares.

Not anymore.

They used to have banners specifically saying they would best Costco. Not anymore. Discount Tire also charges for installation, Costco does not. I used to always buy from Discount Tire, but I went with Costco this time.
That's weird they say they beat prices on their website, but you're saying they didn't for you. I know there are some "Discount Tires" out there that are not Discount Tire. For example, Visalia California has one that isn't the same. https://www.discounttir
I was merely stating that they told me it is a service they offer, all the time, to everyone whether or not they had purchased their tires from Discount tire.
That said, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to determine that not everyone has a Costco membership or wants to go to Costco if another company will meet/beat their price. Also, I've purchased tires from Costco, but not Discount tire to this point in my life. I'm just sharing the information that it would be worth calling a local Discount tire if someone needed tires rotated and did not need new tires, and did not previously purchase their tires from a place that offered free tire rotation for the life of the tires.
I can say over the course of my driving life (24 years and over 10 cars) I've not had many tires fail me due to old age. 2 to be exact, and they were free tires to me. Hopefully you enjoyed my long winded story as well!
Your story wasn't long-winded. 4 rather brief paragraphs, I can handle it. I understand the Internet has deteriorated over the past 20 years, training most people in real life to lose interest in anything if it's not described within 160 characters or less.
But I prefer "long-winded" explanations that take 30 seconds more to read. I guess if it's one thing from "back in the day," which was like 5 minutes ago, that I could bring back, it'd be attention spans that last for more than Usain Bolt's 100m dash. Just the general expectation that anything beyond 3 sentences is a long-winded rant speaks to impatient minds trained by routine multi-hour binges of 10-20 second video clips back-to-back-to-back.
This isn't the same as the Discount Tire most are referring to. https://www.discounttir

Exactly. The moisture present in regular 78% nitrogen compressors is what deteriorates the tire wall from the inside through degradation.
People like to scoff at 95 vs 78% nitrogen and they aren't even aware it's the moisture component that destroys and ages the rubber inside of the tire.

That's awesome thanks for the heads up. Do you know if Amazon would install them and offer road hazard warranty??
When you add the installation charges thru Amazon, it looks like is more.
You are right about buying tires at Discount Tire. The point you are missing is shop around and if you find a better deal than Discount Tire show it to them and they will price match it.
FYI- Costco's "free install" is now factored into their rotating tire sale discount. It used to be that you would get $110-$150ish off per brand sale plus free installation. Now it's significantly less than that and also tiered depending on tire purchase price. When I got my Michelin AS3+, it was $600 out the door with their sale. The replacement model, pilot sport 4 all season is over $800 with their previous $60 discount.
I just compared 3 different tires... They are one cent cheaper at Costco for the tire itself, and no need to pay for install nor road hazard like Discount Tire charges.

Shockingly, I was in and out in 30 minutes.
