Same here. My forester leaks oil like an old ho, so that supertech brand full synthetic hits the spot just right 👌
Is it leaking or burning it? Our Forester goes through oil and there's no leak. I guess synthetic burns without smoke because there should be a big blue cloud following this piece of junk!

Don't believe it if you want your engine to last. Use the lesser of the intervals specified by your owner's manual and the oil used.

Catalytic converters will absorb the blue smoke (up to the max throughput they can handle) until one day they die an early death due to it. It… exhausts… the catalyst that normally lasts the life of the vehicle.

I usually wait for the Mobil 1 rebate deal. Is this deal better. I could use some 0W-20. I'm not sure if I should wait or buy now.
Looking at typical Walmart M1 deals specifically, the prices are close enough that rebate hassle vs dealing with three 5qt containers vs 'do I need this right now or can it wait' would probably be my main considerations.

A) This deal: $22.29 per 5qt, plus no rebate to fill out, plus somewhat less sales tax per unit. Con - possibly storing extra jugs of oil for many months depending on your usage

B) Rebate deal (assuming it comes back again): everyday Walmart price @ $27.97 - $6 rebate. ($10 rebate seems to be only for Extended Performance as of 2023.)

C) Wait for Walmart rollback which happens periodically and hope it coincides with a rebate: $24.97ish (??) - rebate

I'm just gonna ask: is there a way to buy the oil and take it to the oil change shop and give it to them and... I dunno. How does this work?

Thanks OP, repped.

FYI, the EP High Mileage version of 5W-30 is also available for $72.88. That's what I use for one of my cars.

Not even close.
If supertech meets the manufacturer's specs then it's fine, especially if you are changing your own oil correctly and at the recommended interval. The vast majority of people will get rid of a vehicle long before engine failure, so this is a non-issue. Just because you run your truck up a steep grade everyday while towing your mother-in-law around and idle with your foot on the gas 16 hours a day doesn't mean everyone needs "top shelf" oil.

I've been using it in all 6 of my vehicles for the last 10 years or so, and go 10,000+ on oil changes...never had an issue. Everything ranging from a 99 Chevy Silverado to a 2020 RAV4.

Most places should. I work at dealer and have customers bring in there own oil and/or filter sometimes.

Yes you can but some shops do charge extra fees for bringing your own oil. Like they may charge an oil disposal fee that would otherwise not be charged if you used their shop oil. You should call the shop to get the price before or deal with a local mechanic you trust. But at least you know you are getting the specific type of oil you brought. I personally do my own oil changes. I find it fun and only takes a few minutes.

Mobil 1 as far as I can tell still has PAO (group IV) base oil in it (20-30%) and the 5W-40 euro spec is a steal as it meets VW and Mercedes specs so really strong additive package. It changed from full PAO a long time ago but is one of the few left that still have any PAO in it.
Correct, Mobil 1 changed from full PAO a long time ago....
but that's why there's Mobil 1 Formula M
